I'm a little surprised by Rome Total war also. that's not super new. Was released back in September and also has a low metacritic score. Could it be that metacritic is crap and people enjoy fun games?

Rome II was on the Steam sale at a price that had me kicking myself for what I paid for it.

Always take what critics say with a grain of salt... It's good to see reviews, scores and whatever, but if I went solely by what critics said about this game, I would not be sitting on a month of in game time.

One thing is for sure, since the steam sale EU lower zones and 30-40 zones have been packed with players. It feels like being in the beta again with so many people around.
