How about a transfer fee for the Steam version?

I realize that playing the Steam version of ESO means a reduction in income for Zenimax. But it also means that the players who are already members of an active Steam community will be happier (and more likely to get other members of that community to join) if allowed to get Steam keys. Playing a Steam game is a different experience than an add-in game, even if both utilize an outside launcher.

That being said. It clearly states on the Steam ESO page, that an ESO account is required to play. Why not make the use our existing accounts an optional purchase through steam for a reasonable fee? Say something in the $15 range? This seems to be a reasonable compromise to me.

What say you Zenimax? What would be fair for you as well as your users who WANT this option. Make us an offer.

Trading cards and achievements aren't supported by Steam, and Steam doesn't run the patches automatically, either. The experience isn't different in this case.

If you "Add Non-Steam Game" the end result is exactly identical to if you had the game in your library.

Steam players even have to manually make accounts, here.

actually steam has already paid for the game for them to sell, the fact that steam had a sale is all on them, no money is lost, but in what way would add non steam game be different, beside not getting the dog

Trading cards are stupid. I concede that I was wrong, and what these people want is stupid.

I'd support this. I don't care much whether it's a non-steam game or fully integrated with the system, but many people do. It's only fair for Zenimax to give the option to those who genuinely would use it.

There are other things too. The Steam community is NOT trivial to those active in it. Being able to see that friends are in game before logging in is one such benefit. And while I do not enjoy the Trading Cards I am not about to belittle those who enjoy it. We all have our interests and quirks.

Steam also comes with its own voice chat which, while not the greatest it does allow me to chat with other friends on steam. It may help with the game sound loss I get when using steam when playing ESO. I really don't care for the pet, but since they offered it to console players I don't think it would be that big of a deal to offer the same service to steam users.
