You're surprised that a magicka regen-centric build hasn't been more popular?

I think we who play Nightblades have pretty much made it known that, as a gaming community of NB devotees, that we know damned well that wand-wigglers are OP but that we for the most part will never pick up staves. FIX MELEE!

Can I get an amen?

Do we have to keep rehashing this!?

You also just mentioned Immovable. Great skill, if you're not in PvP. Because stun-lock passes right through it like butter.

"Stamina-based builds will be buffed to do damage more similar to that seen with Magicka-based builds over upcoming patches."

As opposed to, "We should have fixed that in beta as it is still an absurdly egregious problem," every single day of the game, especially in PvP.

Speaking of weapon damage, the only reason I ever light attack is to regain magicka with the "toggle" ability I'm forced to have on my bar (thus reducing play-style creativity and, frankly, fun) and the only reason I do a heavy attack is on the rare occasion that a caster is surprised by my (admittedly incredibly rare in PvP) interrupt, so I can knock them down in hopes someone comes along and finishes them off. Because that whole animation wind-up duration is just regen time for them, and useless to me.

Look at vanilla Skyrim. Magic was sooooooo op it was a joke.
Tbh Skyrim is the worst ES game to base this off of, style and ui wise.

If they wanted a play how you want, then they should have used the old school attribute system from morrowind or Oblivion.

They really dumbed down this whole series the last few years.

Aside from the fact that most NB's wanted to play melee or bow .. the build is still crap.

Who cares that NB's can regen magicka they already are going to be the weakest healers in the game. Using siphoning attacks to give you that regen is going to lower your healing output even further .. which is already the lowest healing output in the game.

DK's can buff weapon damage so they heal for more so they don't need as much Magicka to put out the same amount of heals.

Sorcs can buff weapon damage and have a way to turn stamina in to Magicka.

Templars have significantly better heals and can use ultimate to heal.

Guyz, you can do both, there are enough points in the game.

I usually go DW/bow medium armor, but I keep a set of light and a destro and resto staff for those times when I am useless.

Did the vet1 4mans recently and went ahead and did dw/bow though, and man, I felt like I was dragging the group down.

I gave up on a stamina build early on in vet levels, and I'm not sure I'd go back since I like my class skills more than the dw weapon skills. I'm still looking forward to potential changes that will make them viable.

We aren't asking for "emo vampire rangers", we're asking for a rogue class, which is what everyone expected the primary focus for Nightblades would be. Needless to say, we're all disappointed in the fact that you have to use light armor and a staff if you want to get the best results, regardless of class.

Expecting the NB to be a ranger was your doing , people that have played NBs in previous TES games did not expect a ranger.
I am sorry but DW&BOW+Vampire spamming poison arrow NB is the defining cookie cutter NB build and the overall source of NB whine since launch. I have no sympathy for them especially when they act pompous and somehow superior to people that chose to build their NBs another way(Tanks and Destruction +Siphoning ).

That said a rogue styled NB with medium armor and none of that vamp garbage can be very potent and I have played one from V1 to V7 with no problem. I have changed back a tank/dps build though since it got pretty boring and I like tanking.

I am going to make a nightblade healer, eventually. And yes, I recognize the viability of caster with stave/light armor in every class. Even the archer builds are now viable. The problem, as I see it, is the dual-wield builds underperforming by a massive margin (archer is definitely lower dps, but our CC makes the weapon still valuable).

Players wanting to use Shadow Cloak as a in-combat stealth are not really able to do so. These players aren't arguing about first-strike capability, but the lack of ability to use cloak mid-fight to break aggro and do another round of massive spike damage.

I personally love proper assassination mechanics (reflected in games with like Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell), where the focus is more on eliminating a solitary target than running through a ton of bad guys before having a shootout.

Needless to say, I've yet to see a real rogue-like mechanic in an MMO. Ever.

The closest any MMO ever gets is annoying at best, and completely bugged/op at worst. MMO's prefer long drawn out fights, large amounts of adds, and bosses with insane hitpoint totals. In a rogue game, the challenge is getting to the target unseen. In an MMO, it's keeping the group playing for an hour or more.

Rogues usually become overpowered in their ability to choose when to fight and where. They can engage and disengage often as they see fit, which immediately gives them significant advantage over other classes, often overpowering the class entirely.

ESO avoids this by taking away the capability of nightblades to 'disengage', or break off combat entirely. Part of this is bugged, including DOT's breaking our own stealth. Much of it is by design, including a very limited cloak time and the difficulty of breaking aggro completely.

But still, much of the current issue with Nightblades, as a class, is players attempting to make the class do what the traditional rogue classes do in other games. Those of us who use other weapon sets, or rely only on first-strike alpha and then switch to DPS mindsets, aren't doing too bad. Not counting dual-wield players, as mentioned above.

There are no stamina based NB skills.

As has been talked about in multiple posts, the developers didn't intend the game mechanics to be focused on only one resource pool, as can be proven by the magicka-using class skills compared to the stamina-using finesse abilities.

Its players who created that disparity. Sure, ZOS has admitted that it's something they didn't intend and are 'looking into it'. But at no point is a player lead to believe that they can be entirely stamina or magicka focused. Those are still assumptions made by us.
