I agree, I found it insulting to say the least.
I cannot play the game anymore myself, I will click on to start it, then I just exit it. Hard to enjoy something when they dont respond to a question.
Its a pretty simple question, if they cant make a decision and do the right thing, in my opinion, then whats the point in playing a title made them. Any title for that matter.
Can put up with a plethora of problems in a game, I am beta tester at heart, the one thing I cannot put up with though is breaking loyalty to a subscriber base.
They should of used a different name for that sale or updated everyone who has that same edition the item in question.
Until that happens, Im gonna read books!

As far as the other people question, those other people were in response to your accusations that people who want this dog are bashing people. People who pre-ordered got their stuff.
People who bought the Imperial Edition, got their stuff.
People who bought through steam, got their stuff.
Why can't there be unique advantages for everyone ? Most people are missing out on explorer's pack as well.
Other games do this all the freaking time and no one picks up pitch forks and go to a civil war, why do ESO playerbase drive so much anger ?

Those "selling" those items on the internet are not actually "legal". Even on "trustworthy" sites. But that is debatable and I wont go there for this topic .
So they launch content for new players, that cannot get the old content, so what ? You are still ahead, you still have the upper hand and the stuff they cannot get either. Its a trade off. Just because you have been playing the longer, doesn't mean you are entitled to have EVERYTHING.
Same with 50% price off promotions, will you go for a refund on those?
I still do not understand why ESO seems to take such heavy flakk from this, and other companies do exactly the same and get a pat in the back for clever marketing.
I think its fine that new players get some stuff, since the older ones already have everything else, besides, having new blood in the game benefits EVERYONE at the end of the day.

Rift pets are boring as hell though. Yes there are a lot of them to collect but so what? They do nothing at all, just like ESO's pets.
I much prefer WoW's pets. If two people had the easter rabbit pet out they'd breed and make baby rabbits. If you had this blob-like pet it would eat the AI critters in the area and grow. There's some weird beholder-type pet that would occasionally zap critters with an eye ray. There's a pug with fun animations including dragging it's ass on the ground. Cats play with butterflies and things. There's a squire that carries a banner. There's a singing flower from Plants vs Zombies: www.youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=jjYt0lTAZ6s (can't play embedded)
WoW pets are fun to collect and use. Rift and ESO pets aren't, and ESO even makes you keep them in your inventory. At least Rift keeps them in a tab completely separate from inventory.
A lot of WoW's pets wouldn't fit in ESO, I do know that. ESO is a lot more "real" with a lot less comic relief. But there's no reason for ESO to have boring pets. Rift did boring pets and it was highly disappointing.Edited by Holycannoli on July 24, 2014 4:39PM1 -

Cutekhaos✭✭✭As someone who has played since Beta, and having to go through the monkey incident and then the Imperial horse incident this is really no surprise. While my first instinct is to rage against the machine, my second instinct acknowledges the fact that at some point they will most likely introduce other dogs much like they did with the palomino horse or gifting the monkey pet to anyone who was even invited to the beta, regardless of play/download.
That being said as somebody who is purchased the hero books, the physical Imperial edition, and the six months of ESO I consider this to be rude. The last thing I want to is purchase the game again on steam and have to be level my character again. Veteran status is no joke to make a person go through that yet again for a simple vanity pet of a dog is beyond insulting.
For those who say that this is somebody that is entitled or believes they are entitled to this virtual pet however silly it may seem to you, to them it is important. That is what forums are for a place you can voice your concerns and be heard. You don't have to agree or even like what they say, but you should at least respect their opinions so that they can respect yours.6
