Well, maybe not so much considering the fact that most vanity pets thus far are some shade of brown and look quite lackluster compared to this one, while a dog will always be a dog, man's best friend since ancient times etc etc etc.

I was wondering about this the other day. Tamriel is on a different planet--right--not Earth? So why are there familiar humans like Nords and Emperials and to the point dogs and cats and rats when Tamriel has such a variety of other intelligent and not so intelligent animals?

I want an intelligent talking floating Gargoyle skull that helps Florasteel out in a battle with its terrible bite.

I hope they unveil it tomorrow. Apparently I was wrong about them doing it immediately after maintenance, since the EU server is taking just as long as the NA server at this point. We may see it sometime tomorrow morning.

For a pet, equal outrage maybe but not greater.

Now a Tiger/Lion Mount that would cause greater outrage, possible actually causing some people's heads to explode.

btw there's no peems in my name, I don't even know what that means.

It is smeep rocket. Smeep as in the sound that a rat makes, and rocket as in the projectile. I had a rat named Bomber, it is a tribute to her.

Admittedly, I was thinking of "peens" when I made that reply, but having 3 1/2 hours of sleep in a 48 hour period, I appologize for that mix up, lol. Still, despite how tired I was, I was still contributing far more to the debate than you.
But I'm not debating you in particular, since you keep confusing opinion for facts and going into personal attacks. SO your opinion of me in this particular debate is irrelevant.

All I've said over and over is that I'd like to see you provide any kind of proof to anything you're saying. Instead of quoting everyone who doesn't agree with you, dismissing everything they say, and stating your opinions as if they're fact, how about actually supplying some facts to back you? Whether you agree with what I've posted or not, does not change the facts that I've listed nor the fact that they are facts.

It's actually hilarious to me that the guy who called everyone on my side of this debate incompetent is trying to pretend like I'm the one name calling. There's a reason I keep pointing you out in particular, and that's because every time I return to this thread I see you either misquoting someone again or trying to turn the entire debate back to focusing on the dog while ignoring all of the underlying elements. This alone tells us that you're just here for the sake of arguing.
    1) Zenimax justifies the use of a p2p system by stating that "players will have access to all content". Vanity content is still content, stating that there will be no exclusive content and then adding exclusive content makes you a liar.

    2) Veteran players have been asking for a specific item since beta, and Zenimax finally delivers on that item. The problem is, Zenimax only gives said item to new players and tells veteran players they will never be allowed to have the item.

    3) Many veteran players simply want Steam access, they don't care about the other bonus item. However, the way Steam support for this game has been handled, new players are allowed to get the benefits of having the game on Steam while veteran players have been told they never will.

    4) Zenimax chose to announce the release of similar items, but waited so long to announce this and when they did decided that vagueness was the best way to handle the situation. From their response about the similar item, for all we know, it will be a part of the next Steam promotion and all players considered veteran will not have access to it either.

    5) Zenimax's market department has demonstrated very bad judgement by doing what so many consider to be giving the finger to the player base who has stood by them through thick and thin. They have made the statement that, in regards to ESO, it would have been better to wait the three months and buy the game so you could get the Steam support and free vanity items. Naturally, in the process of doing so, they have shunned the very players who have defended them while many big name media companies bad mouthed them.

    6) Many would argue that beta testers had access to two exclusive pets, but new players can get these pets simply by turning to outside vendors and thus, new players have access to everything veteran players have and more while, and I hate repeating myself, veteran players will not be allowed to get the Steam support or vanity pet that new players have.

Offer me some evidence that any of those six items are opinions.

    1) Quoted Zenimax, and lying about something makes you a liar.
    2) Veteran players have been asking for a dog since beta and Zenimax releases one, only to say veteran players cannot have it.
    3) Many of the people who've posted in this thread have admitted they do not care about the dog, they just want the Steam access (hints at the four or five Steam threads)
    4) Zenimax did not announce the brown dog until this thread was 17 pages long and did so as vaguely as they could.
    5) Offering a Steam integrated game, which offers access to the Steam community with an exclusive item so new players will have much more than veteran players and then telling your veteran players that they will never be allowed to have either, is shunning them.
    6) Keys for the beta and explorer pack are as easier to purchase than cigarettes or alcohol. At least for cigarettes and alcohol you have to be 18, for the keys you only need a couple dollars and the ability to type a search in google.

    *Edit
Also, by quoting me, dismissing everything I say, and then giving your two cents, you are debating me in particular.

First off, I kind of have to agree with @smeeprocketnub19_ESO‌ on this one, I was disappointed about the dog, but after reading some of these posts I feel almost normal in a room full of crazy people... every MMO I have played (and I have played a few) has had exclusive promotional deals, some good, some bad, but the word exclusive has a meaning, if they were to give all of us access to the "Exclusive" pet, it would not be exclusive...

On another note, I talked to the ZOS folks at QuakeCon, I live in the area and my wife and I went, we brought up the dog and were told that a brown Wolfhound was going to be available in the future, but they were not sure how they were going to deliver it, I even posted that on these forums... that the folks at QuakeCon had that answer ready as soon as we mentioned it means they were ready for the question... this thread was not 17 pages at the time... That it took ZOS 17 pages to respond just shows how much fun you can have in Dallas at a hotel that is less then half a mile from Medieval Times (I hope Matt took the whole crowd there for dinner at least once).
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

I feel it breaks down like this. I played in beta and was active prior to the monkey pet. I pre-ordered the Imperial edition and played all through early access. As an active reporter of bugs and bots I feel we should have gotten access to this item if new players are.

I do not support steam because it is a resource hog and a crap launcher. ESO does not integrate with Steam, it launches the ESO launcher, so obviously Zenimax feels the same way.

It is a slap in the face to offer exclusive content through such an inferior service; especially given what the loyal players have been through to date.

We are the players who have patiently[more or less] waited on fixes and patches. We are the loyal followers who have not dropped our subs over programming issues.
We deserve to be treated appropriately and shown in return the same loyalty from Zenimax.

The Palamino horse was stupid enough. Imp horse plus content for $20 upgrade or palamino for $15. The pictures on-line do not even resemble a spotted palamino horse.

I think all the players here would agree that giving us access to content at the same time it is released elsewhere would prevent threads like this. We want the option and that is asking very little.

If steam gets an exclusive pet, then those of us who bought directly from elderscrollsonline.com should get something better. I could have gotten a discount through gamestop or amazon, but I bought direct. Show me my loyalty and commitment was appreciated.

Show those of us who pre-ordered, bought direct, or at least carry the imp edition some love and give us access to exclusive content.

I personally would rather have a wolf than a wolfhound, but it isn't really about what the pet is. The problem here is that a discount plus a unique pet feels like a slap in the face to loyal customers after or dedication and loyalty. This is more like punishing your current players for being loyal.

As a separate point. I do not believe the Spider[full time] or Monkey[open stress test] pets should be put up for sale at any time. They were for the 2 levels of beta testers only and that is not something you can pay for. Nor should people who did not patiently survive the stress tests get access to them. Trust me, we earned it.

The imp edition pets come with Imp edition, as it is still available no issue there.

So the Guar and Wolfhound are the only ones up for sale. Let us be real if you buy the guar you get the guar pet, not very exclusive. This whole thread is about the steam wolfhound and discount.

Then you will probably better unsub.

Zen already made clear they dont give a damm about us who were here before the steam launch and that they give a damm if we are pissed about the dog or not.

We are not getting the dog mate , that simple.

Issue is clear current imperial owners and subs are given no option for a cool pet unless we buy a package again under stupid steam... this why we all so STEAMed... A brown one is not anyones choice...

Even if you had paid for the steam version , you would not get the dog on your current account :P.

It is literally for new players or those willing to give up their accs only.

I think since they already have a game shop that has a horse and the imp upgrade they should just put this dog and other pets as stand alones in this shop. If they don't do something to fix this soon it will leave a really bad taste in everyones mouth regardless if they are subscribers or not.

Just look at this thread and imagine the rage if they offer "paying" customers something in the shop that others got for free? It might cause a thermonuclear Internet meltdown.

Honestly, these companies should just stop offering "exclusive" perks to anyone. Give discounts on price or something but don't ever offer any in-game excluslive to anyone that everyone can't also have. Problem solved.
