I don't really care about the pet. I would like to be able to have a steam key since I paid more for the game then the $30 on steam.

Can I trade my mudcrab pet for the wolfhound? I might actually use that one, instead of taking a precious inventory slot for the mudcrab.....

Seriously, they should give this pet to all existing Imperials. Not really fair otherwise.

They also should add a darn pet menu, so we don't have to eat up slots on our pets. Every MMO in the last 10 years has had one, eh? Well 99% of them anyway.

All additional bonuses to Imperial Editions have to be upgraded with existing and subscription accounts for such edition.

For me it reminds me about mobile providers with back of 20 years when they were taking care about new customers while forgetting about existing ones.

    Where is loyalty program?

There are a few different types of dogs I have seen in game. If given enough feedback, it is highly likely that ZoS could simply offer another pet dog to non-Steam accounts.

We are clear that the current mutt is a Steam exclusive. If we could have a word from ZoS about another pooch being a possibility, it would be nice.

I for one would be happy to have a dog, or a cat for that matter, as they did a great job on the their design.

Yeah, that was a bit cheesy, and the mammoth mount was sooooooo slow haha, but a cool thing never the less. Age of Conan is an awesome game tho, one of the coolest I played actually

I am sorry, but this is just offensive, I pre-ordered the physical imperial edition and played since launch and this is the thank you ?

Here is a list of things that are actually offensive:
    - Racial slurs
    - Unwanted sexual advances
    - Mass genocide
    - Skinheads
    - People who enable "Two and a Half Men" to stay on the air

Notice the lack of a vanity pet entry.

Wow -- a day later, you're still seething with anger that people want an imaginary dog?

Look, we all know this isn't an actual humanitarian tragedy, and nothing is at stake but some pixels. But you're at least as upset as the folks who began this whole discussion. Unimportant things can and do cause emotional reactions. You're just reinforcing the broader point.

This is not about pixels this is about Loyalty Program from Zenimax on which current subscribers with Imperial Edition are not even taken into consideration with their marketing plans.

How about giving new subscribers with Imperial Edition brown wolfhound and for existing subscribers with Imperial Edition white one?

Zenimax is contractually obligated now to only offer the Whiterun Wolfhound to Steam customers. In order to promote the game through steam and offer this pet exclusively, they would have been forced to sign a contract and thus, cannot go against it without legal retribution from Steam.

That said, they could offer the Whiterun Wolfhound to veteran players who would be willing to buy an "upgrade" to their account through Steam which gives veteran players access to the Steam community and the dog. Given that many players repurchased the game (I did not but I know many have) without knowing they would not be allowed to add the dog or Steam access to their current account, it makes sense marketing wise to take advantage of this. Only problem is that Zenimax would sound greedy if they did this... but then again, they do offer a vanity horse and Guar plush (with vanity pet) through the game store so I think it's a little too late to avoid this.

Or put a different dog in the ESO store for like 5-$10.

Or not. Especially not for 5-$10.

If they don't make it somewhat difficult to get, then everyone's gunna be running around with the same dog. I'd say $5 is fair.'id pay $10 though.

You would pay $10 for pet that does nothing and takes up an inventory slot? These ESO pets aren't like WoW pets where they had interesting animations and sounds, would interact with other pets and critters and were generally fun to use.

ESO pets are like Rift pets: boring. But at least Rift uses a pet menu so they aren't in inventory.

    I might pay $10 for a cat though :)

Yep. If you buy the guar plushie in the Bethesda store, you get an in-game guar vanity pet.

My issue is why ZoS taught a monkey and crab be better than a wolfhound. Second not giving us equal chance to get without have to buy Imperial all over again under Steam. I will NEVER pre-order from ZoS again for anything. As stated all should get dogs but give wolfhound to Imperial owners atleast not a brown one...

Oh I dunno... I personally prefer the monkey and mudcrab over the wolfhound. They just seem blasé because everybody has them. If they had given out the wolfhound first, then everybody'd be screaming like crazy to get the monkey.

They get the mudcrab... and they can add a beta key. My brother has a steam account with all the vanity pets he added his beta key and a CS key.

Yeah, I get that. I was more referring to the opinion that the monkey or mudcrab were less appealing than the wolfhound, and was just pointing out that had the wolfhound been used initially instead of the monkey or mudcrab, then the wolfhound would seem blasé today and the monkey or mudcrab would be the one viewed as the cooler pet.

Pre-ordering from anyone for anything has never made any sense to me--regardless of what exclusives they offer you. When does it ever pay off when you risk being thrust into a game full of really poor beta tested and failed to fix bugs, crashes, etc?

For my part I will never by another game within a month of release with reviews in the seventies like I did. We can all thank ZOS for ruining pre and immediate release sales if anyone has any sense.

I can't imagine what ZOS has in store for us next. I think it is very rude that they have stopped with the patching just because of this big-shot convention and/or release of the game on Steam.
