Summarization of Complaints and Issues (for Devs easy access), since Patch 1.2.5 (Top 5)

So I saw a few other threads joking about this, and I thought to myself... You know.. that would actually be useful if someone actually took it seriously.... So without further adue, here is a current list of what I could find that was pertinent, and not a rage:

1.) The most common complaint since the latest patch has been about "Character Customization" in general.

People seem to want more choices when designing a character (Such as More hair choices), and the discussions on the Armor Dye System, seem to lean toward players desiring a dual acquisition system of some sort To accompany the current plans.rather then it solely being based on achievements. A Crafting, or Drop system have been suggested.

2.) I thought this would be the largest complaint but apparently Character looks score higher then game balance in the eyes of the players the last few weeks. ( I would assume that is a good sign).

Number 2 is Class Balance and Character Development, which the devs and the OTR interviews indicate is being worked on slowly, The most fervent suggestion or complaint seems to be for "More Freedom of Choice" when developing a Character, and the Imbalance between resource cost for Mana, and Stamina of abilities.

Suggestions have included more classes, more trait skills, New Resource systems (Such as Health), Making some of the class Abilities cost stamina rather then all being Mana Based, Including traits on different armor types which actually encourage players to use them over the Light, and Staff option which is currently the "Must have" for end game content.

3.) Number 3 issue is "Quest Bugs" there are still a ton of them being listed in the Customer support area, I wont list them here but devs you should take a look over there and see if you can quick fix those during regular maintenance. Especially since the new dye system is achievement based, and many of the colors achievements pertain to "entire Area Completion Achievements" which for most zones is not currently a possibility to achieve due to these bugs.

4.) VR as usual makes this list, although I have put it on the bottom due to the devs having a planned phase to fix most of the complaints I have seen on the forums since the last update. The general complaint however is the rewards system, which I believe is well known.

5. There are a few Immersion complaints, It seems quite a few players believe many of the mechanics of ESO to be Lore Breaking, These mostly pertain to VR content and you helping and assisting the other Alliances. The complaints also refer to the contradiction of this since with the current limited class system you are required to roll alts, and it has become more a grind fest that is rather boring, and pointless if you have already leveled a VR character. (Since you have already played through the entire quest-line of every single race on that one character).

The suggestion for this is to basically scrap the current VR areas (with the exception of Craglorn) for more unique Faction specific areas pertaining to the story of your Characters alliance, rather then those of another alliance your supposed be at war with, not helping.

After all, defeating Molag Bal is really the characters story, the Games Story is about the future of the Alliances and their continual struggle and vie for domination and power over the other Alliances, and well... Helping your enemy does not really seem like a realistic or even valid course of action to accomplish this...

So their complaint here is actually more of a valid point I suppose.

If I have missed anything you all are welcome to post it below, but please keep it serious and professional, no raging, this post is to help organize the top priorities "in players eyes" for the devs.

Nice list. Cant really argue with any of it all of them are things id like to see fixed/added. Although i don't always agree with the solutions presented.

But i am curious as to where you pulled these numbers from. How you decided on what was most and least.

I spent the last day or 2 trolling the forums, (both the CS and GD (Customer Service and General Discussions). Reddit, Youtube, OTR websites, etc and in game zone chats.

You have to really read all (or Most) the threads for the most part to get any valid kind of general feeling, as of course most pertinent issues are found while in debate of something on one thread, rather then it being under a title of it's own.

While doing this I made a list with my notebook and pen (beside me) and checked off when I saw something that was someone actually being constructive. I also took notes of things people were asking or complaining about in game when it was mentioned several times or when the Zone chat became "Barrens Chat" :P, as well as looking over the polls and votes and ideas. I checked Reddit and the comments on the OTR youtube channel and website as well.

I of course as a person can't give you exact numbers, no one can really, but I can say my notebook points these listed issues out as having far more depth, and discussion, or complaints then any other topics, since the last update. But the system I used is the best one, one can hope for analytically, and realistically I think.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I suppose a better question might be "why" I did it... Well if I was being honest I'd have to say I got bored... I have one of each class and play lately has been a bit stale for me since I can't really go beyond the limits of my character (if you know what I mean).

So I figured making myself useful and being helpful was as good a way to enjoy myself with the game as any. After all there's already plenty of people being negative currently, but don't worry, I am just as guilty of raging as the next person. :P

I'm not sure how converting all complaints to a Bronze Age Mesopotamian language will help but it will certainly make reading the forums more interesting.

I disagree with number 1, you seem to have a vested interest based on your dye specific thread, but I'd say the community is neither leaning one way more than the other (unless you count the poll in the thread you created favoring achievements). I'm glad they tied it to achievements.

Number 1 should have been: FPS issues and the "artdata" load failure.

Function always comes before decoration, balance, and expansion of content.

That was the interesting point. Based on his supposed findings, players were more invested in decoration than anything else.

They already know about everything... except 1).

Achievement system with rewards as colors is fine. I love it and many other people love it too. There is nothing wrong with this.

Those numbers as I stated before were not specifically related to stuff on the forums, but youtube, reddit, in game etc. I took a much larger pool sample for a more valid list.

    @‌GTech_1

The FPS issue suprisingly did not make it on the list because among the resources I looked though, it was not as common as the ones I placed there. It is however a very popular complaint on these forums, and in some threads on Reddit, however it did not have the overwhelming material attached to it that the other points do.

Also this thread is specifically about the top 5 complaints since "1.2.5". The FPS issue has also been a complaint for a very long time, and is well known, so rather then waste a slot in the top 5 for a problem which is already well known and discussed for months, I chose to put a more relevant, newer, and more discussed issue in it's place.

Are you serious? "sumerization of complaints for devs"..

Guys, what you want isn't what the devs MUST do. You can't just complain and expect that they'll do what you say. This is their game, not yours!

I find it difficult to believe that any cosmetic issue is more important than any game mechanic/technical issues. The most common thing you see on the forum is "Fix the damn game"
Whats the point of it being pretty if it doesn't work. Admittedly its getting there but there's still some long standing issues that have yet to be addressed. I'd rather dev time was spent on those before adding coloured beards Squirrel pets etc

There are bugged quests out there, yes, but you can get zone achievements in every single zone, every one of them. If you weren't able it just means you weren't trying hard enough.

Some of your post have already been answered by me in previous posts... Just saying. I realize I write books, and most people skim over things, but if you would read it all, you'd avoid what the 2-3 posters above this post are assuming I meant, and are completely wrong in said assumption....

    1. This post is not about "me" or "my" issues in/with the game, I actually only have 2 complaints in general neither of which are listed in the top 5 in this thread.

Nor does this post reflect ONLY what is stated on this forums, the top 5 were derived from 5-10 different sources over a 2 day period of research. A full list of where the research was done and my sources is in the very first 3-4 posts on the thread.

    2. @Pele - Yes I stated my observation of such on Number 2. Perhaps reading the entire OP would have avoided your confusion. And as I stated, I myself was surprised to find that in general, players were more concerned about cosmetics and aesthetics then game performance.

Scrapping the whole alternative reality hand-waving bull-crap is the single most effective thing they could do. I've never come across a more ridiculous, transparent piece on nonsense in any MMO.

The game spends 50 levels expertly building a bond between your character and your faction and then, because apparently 5 years and $200,000,000 wasn't enough, rather than continue the story they decided to throw it all away.
