if they give special passives and skillpoints then they already beat VR anyways"Champion" Levels, maybe refer also to the system after they remove "veteran" points and replace them with regular XP. No clue why they are doing this.. one set of points works as well as the other.
Something in my head tries to guess that it could be that current 1-v10 will transform to 1-100 or 150 or something vet points out. To reach the cap you need to go through all the 3 alliances. Once that done you are champion and the champion levels start.
Though I can also see that many people would not be happy to go through all that to reach champion content like craglorn. We'll see.
Actually they mentioned that champion levels start once you reach lvl 50 (thus the idea of replacing vet levels) and champion points, once gained, are actually account wide (not restricted to one character).
Whats the difference between champion levels and veteran? I mean, if its like paragon levels from Diablo 3, it is that different?
Makes it a little awkward to continue doing things like remaining quests etc after you hit VR12 because there's no record of xp/vet points being earned once you reach this level. As in, how will they convert the xp/vet points you earn into champion points once a player is already VR12 and no points are pooling up anywhere to be converted?

Retroactive I would imagine.
So VR and Champion level coexist? Its even more confusing now.Veteren ranks are not going away. This was stated by Paul Sage during the interview. Vet points are being replaced by XP. This XP will increase your vet RANK and give you CHAMPION levels to spend points on. Its D3s paragon system.

It is very easy.
1. in phase 2 Veteranpoints will be replaced by normal EXP. (VR Ranks 1-12 stays).
2. In phase 3, Championpoints will be added (for example every 100k exp you will get 1 Championpoint) VR1-12 stays.
3. Every character 50+ can contibute EXP to the Championpoints and use ALL earned Championpoints.
(For example VR10 contributed 5 CP, VR5 contributed 2 CP, every character 50+ can use 7 CP.)
