How many "Competitive" PvP builds are there per class?

Being perfectly honest, im looking for the community's opinion.

I think there is only 1 build per class, the way I see it. However, I dont know much about non templars.

This cant be the vision ZoS had for ESO pvp...

Sorcs 4
NBs 3
Temps 3?

Edit: I am counting viable or very competitive builds (of course there is a best overall for each class). Also I am clumping builds up into basic strats (of course there are dozens of renditions of each build).

Well I will have to disagree with you.

When it is regarding PvP.. There are a mind numbing amount of "completive" builds. The reason I say that is because you do not need an "OP" build to perform well in PvP. In other words, you can stay competitive despite your build with your ability to PvP alone.

If you as a player require cookie cutter builds to stay completive in PvP then that is very lackluster and un-enjoyable IMHO.

Here's another good question... How many of the "competitive builds" for each class do not include light armor/resto staff?

NB Builds:

1.) Melee high damage (ambush, fear, stealth, big crit)... This one includes the pet/shield stamina drain tactics

2.) Caster with dot spam and restoration staff

3.) Hybrid caster with bow spike dps

Edit:The second build being (imo) the one with the best sustained dps and group utility and therefore the best.

Depends on what you call competitive. Competitive in 1v1 or 'competitive' in AvA? (yes, air quotes for 'competitve' in AvA) There are lots of builds that put out huge damage to zergs but like they say in WoW, can't pvp their way out of a paper bag. Likewise there are builds that are op in 1v1 but are next to useless in AvA.

Your all wrong there is only 1 competitive build for every single class and it is the same one that will roll you in any other build.

Agree, though Templars probably have 3-4 builds; heals, heals+tank,combat medic (standing in the fire healing everyone), stealth/rescue.

Also Vamp adds 1-2 builds to each, plus there are a number of alliance (caltrops,horn,siege shield and heals) and guild (volcanic rune, FG shield/buff) "off" builds that are viable

@Malpherian‌ sorry you believe that, it is wrong I know for a fact i have never been killed by a dress wearing NB, but I have been killed by NB. I know their are a lot of people getting dropped by dress wearing DKs, but in most cases you would be dropped anyway so it is an excuse. And most cases where someone believed that they could go get a destro and a dress and somehow be OP have been very fun to watch.

I think anything can work. But you need to be top geared and top level. Otherwise you can not judge if it works or not.

But what I think is a must for any build is selfheal. I honestly hate it. Selfheals are the dumbest design in MMOs. Healing should be granted only to resto staff user.

You do badly in fight? Just accept it and die. Some self heals are riddicilous that you get back to full HP from death... If you use resto staff you still may die trying to use it which is fine balance. But each class having some sort of selfheal is just stupid.

I think a melee build can take a caster build in 1v1 fight. Even Smarter if you use an anti caster build+Melee build. Templars are very good at this, my Templar can cast Blazing Shield at least 4 times in combat. Though this is due to the fact I have to split between my Stamina build and my healer build.

Completely disagree. There have been plenty who have branched away from caster and done very well. With everyone being a caster my defenses are against casters. So when someone comes in with something unorthodox, they have solid success over many of us.

I agree vampire line adds 1-2 to each class.

Though I put 3? because without templars dictating where their heals go, I can wrap up combat medic with heal tank. I also put one of the templar builds as the "aoe bomb" using charge and blazing shield in conjunction. But when you add bow heal offset, you are right and I should have said 4.

I never said you couldn't "KILL" something with a different build, if you were not wearing a dress and staff, this thread is not about "Can you Kill something" with your build.. There are 100's of builds that you can use to kill things with.

This thread is about COMPETITIVE BUILDS,

The only current COMPETITIVE BUILD in the game is cloth/Staff, Period. Because anyone with cloth and a staff will role you regardless of their Class, and regardless of your's if you also, are not equipped with cloth/staff.
