Hirelings

Ok, for the past couple weeks my character with cooking skills has only been getting beverage mats in the mail. Most are also low level mats. One or two days of this is fine. but for couple weeks now isn't.

Whats going on? I do have 3/3 hireling and at and been at level 50 provisioning.

I have never met any of your hirelings or at any time given them any gold or other incentives to exchange quality goods with less desirable goods and deliver me the bounty of the exchange.

The RNG can be a *** sometimes. I have four toons with 3/3 provisioning hirelings. For four days straight I got hops and grapes on all but two deliveries. that's about 22 deliveries of grapes/hops and two deliveries one of salt/onion another of red wheat/barley (i dont log in every twelve hours like clock work. I wish i could)
Then the RNG changed. In one day I got four deliveries with tomatoes. Only two deliveries in that span were grapes/hops.
Since then the RNG has been OK, 50% grapes/hops and 50% food with at least one in six giving tomatoes. Oats seem a little rare but that could be perception. Tomatoes are obvious in a delivery, oats less so.

Hirelings don't seem to be worth a point. They mostly seem to bring back low level junk and you can get more and better items by wandering in the woods. Especially when it's raining. Spend the day harvesting and save your precious points for something that actually < helps >.

@Arizona_Willie , I have to disagree, whilst I do get some Gold/Purple Mats from refining, my main source is my hirelings, for Blacksmithing and Wood Working at any rate.

I frequently refine stacks of 400+ ores/wood and although I usually get some high lvl mats it is by no means guaranteed, however most days one or other of my three hires presents me with at least a purple. Today I got both Mastic(purple) and Rosin(gold) in one delivery.

Oh the crafts I have hirelings for are all Level 50 and fully maxed out skill point wise.
