For weeks now I have been called a hater because I kept asking for changes to ESO, to make it a better game, from my point of view.

I still do post for changes. I personally think we need a bank upgrade and an AH, but that is just my personal view.

Lately, I have been thanking ZOS for all the effort and nice changes it has made lately, even if I did not ask for some of them.

Today I was called a fanboi. Me. A fanboi. ROFL!

So, I guess I'm a hater on one thread and a fanboi on another.

I'm accused on one thread I just want ESO to be WoW. On another thread I just blindly follow ZOS.

I really do believe we all want ESO to be a great game. In that respect, we are all on the same side.

I may not agree with you and you may not agree with me, but that does not mean we should personally insult the ones who do not see our point of view.

I'm not innocent in this. I have gotten caught up in defending myself and threw a zingers out in the void.

Anyway, just remember, we are all here to support a game we love, even if it does not seem that way.

I've actually been threatened to be banned from a popular MMO site (I won't name) for being sceptical about various games when everyone's else is like "this is the best game ever made...".

Funny thing is those games end up sinking off the radar a few months down the line, but these people instead of listening to a more honest opinion rather than calling anyone with such an opinion a troll are hyping up the next "WoW killer" and there starts another cycle of people wearing those rose tinted glasses again.

OK, my first attempt at a humorous response was a bust, (I guess I should have added that smiley afterall) so I'm just going to tell Blackwidow that I thought he made a fun post in spite of how my response seems to have been received.

I consider myself both, as well. I've defended parts of the game - and ripped on other parts. I don't think the game is anywhere near perfect, but it's fun enough to keep me and my wife subbed.

No matter how many times I've shook my head at some of your posts, you are exactly right about one thing for certain: disagreeing shouldn't automatically lead to insults and verbal fisticuffs. Like you, I think most of us (including myself) have occasionally dipped into the mud-pit to sling some of it around.

So can we just all group-hug now and get back to hatin'/lovin' this game?

Well, you sure do come across as having one huge ego at times it seems *winks*.

But yes, you are right; at the end of the day we're all on the same side and just want to make the game better, (or stop it from taking a step backwards, if your prefer). It's always a tough thing to 'agree to disagree' though, especially when passionate about something. And an empathetic viewpoint is always in short supply. Add to that the mis-communication that's rife with forum posting, and well... we've all seen the results.

At the end of the day we can't control what others say about us, our ideas, or the game. We can only control how we in turn react.

I personally tune out whenever someone uses either label. As soon as that enters your post, you lose all credibility in my book.

EDIT: To add, the same goes for "elitist" and "scrub". People sure like to toss around labels on these forums. Easier than actually supporting an argument I suppose.

Hm, I had this love hate relationship with eso since release. I even have it in my signature.

I love ESO but I think that they have made some really lousy choices and some really terrible mistakes. The last one was the difficulty nerf instead of reverting to the pre 1.1.2 difficulty with some slight adjustments and addition of alternative leveling methods. The incessant 1/2 and 1/3 and total removal skill nerfs are also very annoying. The recent slow response to some PVP problems was also a disaster, I am not much of a PVPer but I hate them when they do something that can cause them to lose subs like they did now.

I consider the bank a rather small (no pun intended) issue.
One is able to upgrade it even!

Claiming that it's so unbearable that one has no choice but to leave the game because they don't have enough inventory space is.. well, a bit overly dramatic?


Not that I would have a problem with more banking space, but I for one have a lot of things I would prioritize! (you know, how horribly underpowered plate is, the insanely early overcharge caps, Cyrodiil latency and framerate issues, the power granted to staves in comparison to other weaponry, and classes)

Also, if the bank was upgraded to what was comfortable for you (let's say something silly, like, twice the bankspace) other people would never invest their ingame gold into upgrading it. And complaints would rise, that there are no money sinks!

I think each of us have something we want in ESO to be changed or improved. But we are still happy about the game (only the latest FPS drop was way too strong issue which must have made any PVPer mad)

I am glad they fixed it last day of my sub, so I am resubing today :-)

Truth to be told any product needs to have people who are not happy with something (something reassonable), because it helps the product to be better.

It's totally possible to appear to be a fanboi and a hater at the same time to different people, though it's just really being someone who loves the game yet is able to see where certain improvements can be made.

Anyone throwing those terms around at you, OP, is just doing that assassination of character thing the internet makes people do.
