Pact's Armor: identical to Covenant's and Dominion's Armor?

Yesterday in PvP I noticed an AD player wearing armor identical to mine, which is Pact's Armor. So I was curious, AD and DC players, if the "Covenant's Armor" and "Dominion's Armor" PvP set looks identical to the Pact's Armor?

For reference, an image I found of some vamp wearing Pact's Armor:

EDIT: the character in this pic is a Nord, and the armor looks identical on my Imperial and on my Argonian characters.

    One possible way:
There can be another character with a Nord in AD, while you are a Nord in EP. Since armor looks are linked to race, you guys will have the same look of armor.

Actually no, I have 2 characters, and Imperial and an Argonian, and the heavy, medium and light Pact's Armor looks the same on them, barring a few minor details. I also saw a Khajiit and an Orc wearing them in EP and it was the same as the above pictures.

HAHA. Though it's not really surprising that they didn't give them unique styles.
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I can understand the Pact having samurai-esque armor due to the Dunmer, but... the Covenant and Dominion have identical armor? I hope not.

I'm not surprised, in the end armors and weapons styles are race based " motifs" and not alliance based.

Usually yes, but this photo is of a Nord, and Pact's Armor is the same on him as it does on my Imperial and my Argonian. Crafted armors/weapons are different based on race, but unique armors/weapons aren't, unless the game's been bugging for me or something.

Exactly! And if they did add some armor that was unique for each faction, you can bet your butt cheeks that there would be tons of people who thought the armor from one of the other factions was better than the armor from their own faction and would troll these forums about it.

There was an AD Imperial the other night, with exactly the same armour. Said was Dominion armour.

Personally, crafted my own as I like it, because was difficult to get 135 Spell power, and cap the Magicka regen, by going down the route of non craft able sets.

All PvP gear is Akivari style. No Akivari motif, so it is uniquely PVP gear until they decide to add a motif.

So I spoke with some Guildies from DC and AD and it turns out yes, the PvP Pact's/Covenant's/Dominion's armor sets all look identical... shame. Don't know why they're all identical, that jsut seems lazy.

PvP "Rewards for the worthy" boxes, or you can buy them from other players. It's not just armor, there's a Bow, Sword, Axe, Greatsword, Lightning/Frost/Fire/Healing Staves and rings/necklaces of the Pact+Dominion+Covenant. They give good set bonuses too.

The one-handed swords look a bit like katanas, but the greatswords don't at all and as a two-handed character it made me sad.

Nice that the one-handers look like Katanas then, at least.

Since ZOS is updating the Redguard and Orc Armors... maybe update these too?
Akaviri looking armor makes sense for the Pact, maybe a more Breton looking armor for the Covenant and a more Altmer looking armor for the Dominion?

It -would- be a great idea to have three different PvP armor designs. Though I think they went that way in an "fighters guild took over akaviti style, PvP armor is fighters guild supplied" way...

Still, it'd be great if the other sets had different looks... Lion Guardish for DC sounds good, AD could have something like a modified ayleid style for the honor of their ancestors or something?

Oh, well, since they indeed updated orc and redguard clothing, maybe we will see more updates in the future, here and there...

Also, I am somewhat certain that this "Alliance armour" is something that came at a late point in the game, I am fairly certain that originally, the Akaviri armour was going to be craftable, and was going to be Fighters Guild armour? (Many Fighters Guild NPCs still wear armour that looks a lot like Akaviri armour).

Probably explains why it's the same style for Pact/Covenant/Dominion instead of three unique styles.

They did post a picture with plans to update the Pact Armor. I wonder when they actually plan to carry that out

Seeks the unusual and unique playstyles...

As noted by @Lyall84 and @AngryNord the style is Akaviri.

Lore-wise it could have a) been sold to the other factions by scavengers after the Ebonheart Pact defeated the second Akaviri invasion or b) it could be stolen/recovered Imperial equipment dating from the first Akaviri invasion defeated by the Emperor Reman I (he was probably a DK  ). In need of troops at the time, Reman incorporated the Akaviri who surrendered into his own armies, it is likely that they kept their arms and armour which may now be surfacing as spoils of war and rewards for exceptional performance.

Incidentally, the reason the Fighter's Guild often wears Akaviri armour is that the Guild was established by the Akiviri Dinieras-Ves to replace the disbanded regional armies of the other kings after the death of Reman III when the Akaviri took control of the Empire.

As to why did ZOS do it this way, I suspect that @NetViperX is correct when he said:

The alliance specific gear is shown below. Who knows if it will be a pvp set anymore after all the neglect that realm has received.
