Yes or No. Is the ( IMO ) broken grouping mechanics of ESO going to change?

I just want to know without any pandering or any mixed words. Is the grouping mechanic regarding the inability to help/group with or in any way participate with another player that is in a different part of a quest line EVER going to change?

I cannot seem to find a straight answer to this very basic question. Though i see an awful lot of complaints about it pretty much everywhere.

I am was the biggest fanboy i know of for this game. But this one IMO defining characteristic of an MMO concept has been completely ignored as far as I can find. And with all the other problems this game faces. This one IMO at least is the most blindingly obvious, game breaking, anti-productivity dept approved "oversight" I have ever seen in an MMO.

By not addressing this problem that just about every online review has targeted. And chat is still full of complaints about. It actually feels like the F* You customer that we have all seen absolutely destroy otherwise very good MMO's countless times.

I get that you want to be different. But CLEARLY, holy crap SO VERY CLEARLY people hate this mechanic. Please do not let your tunnel vision of what this game is going to be. Overshadow what your customers want it to be.

When it comes down to it. We all want you to make lots and lots and lots of money so that you will be around for a long long ... Long time.

It is hurting my heart.

So... YES OR NO, can I please play with my friends? please.

In the group roster you have to right-click someone that is in the group and select "travel to". It works.

Yes, it's different - not broken.

I do think they need to set up some kind of tutorial for this.

Thanks for replying. But i think you and i are talking about different things. I am not talking about getting to a group member. i am talking about being out of phase with them because they are on a part of a quest line that you have already completed.

I want to help my friends/guild members. But I cannot. If i want to play with someone to level or even just hang out. we have to spend 2 hours trying to get ourselves on the same exact spot in our questing.

Ultimately its not worth the hassle trying to help someone. If its even possible.

They have said they were going to fix that, mind you that was a while ago, so Zos need to restate it and give an update.

It needs to be fixed, it is broken (not a matter of opinion), and they need to fix it as soon as possible, and give us some idea about how far along they are too fixing it (a deadline itself would be pointless, but some idea of how long would be nice).

Actually this should have already been fixed. If it is not working for you then you need to contact ZOS. I have went and helped many people with quests I have already completed. The only quests you can't group together on should be the main quests. Also when in group pull up the party window with "P" and there should be an option to share quest.

Silly question. ZOS has said many, many times that they're working on it.

I thought it was fixed too as a friend of mine joined me on some quests he did and when he got close to me entered my phase....that said, is it really game breaking? It'll only be out of phase for like 10 minutes while you go and complete the quest on your own, it's not like the entire zone is out of phase, just that 1 area where those couple quests are located. Does it suck, sure, game breaking....that's a little dramatic.

Working on it ... and doing it... and letting us know the status of it. are not the same things i am afraid.

I just want to know for my own sake as this is a deal breaker for me personally. When it is going to happen.

    That is all

For me personally. yes it is game breaking. And i realize that on a specific quest... yes it will only take 10 minutes. but if you are planning on playing with someone for any length of time it is many quests that you have to sync up. @ 10 mins a quest x's 15 quests... thats a long time just trying to get to the point where you CAN even play together.

That is not taking into consideration that if a guildy needs help with something. It would stand to reason they cannot pass the content for whatever reason to get to the same level you are.

I suppose my & others frustrations come from the simple fact that we are playing an MMO that actively works against grouping. It was a conscious decision to make grouping difficult. And that is frustrating.

Yeh but the other day I group with this guy in vet zone because we are at the same point in a quest line and there are loads of nasty mobs about.

We both progress to the next quest together and "ping" we are in different phases!

I have to travel to player and end up miles away at a wayshrine. I then have to negotiate the mobs whilst he twiddles his thumbs.

    That's not healthy MMO play.
At least the spelling is difficult for you.
