Data Load Failure!

So I contacted customer support via email and was told to disable all my addons and update my Java and it should help alleviate the issue. I did not. My Java was already current and with or without addons the game still "crashes" constantly. There doesn't seem to be any specific things that I'm doing in game, it just happens. Has anyone else figured this out yet? Happened after the last big patch along with sporadic FPS issues in PvE.

    Greetings!

We are aware of this issue, and currently working on a fix. In the meantime, have you tried repairing your game client?

Also, please provide us any crash report you may get, or a game consultant file.

    Thank you!

I've personally had a lot more lag.issues or what I would describe as mobs not appearing at all but being able to fight me and me able to kill them in large groups taking little to no damage.

I normally play PvE so whether it's in the world.or in a cave or dungeon the experience has been the same over the last two weeks.

Prior I did not have these issues but the animations would get stuck. My Templar would walk around with the spear showing as if an equitable item.

I'm not enjoying missing out on seeing what the game is trying to show. I've made a new character in a different realm to go through more of the other quests and stories but it seems the game improves in some respects and.gets.a lot worse in other areas.

I realize the game is just a few.months old but at the current playability I wonder how long. The population is dropping and overtime this will require the developers to drastically overhaul endgame.
    ANOTHER THING

Every since the huge Tuesday path (related to the above), I've noticed and experienced a re-occuring error that when posted in two different forums were not addressed. It's not.my PC as I've played with no issues until the large Tuesday patch.

This error is a "bad load error" one that pops up not while.loading new areas or just after. This pops up whenever it wants to and then further prevents me from being able to complete quests that have intractable objects.

As of the Thursday patch the game continues with the error and then crashes.
Please don't ruin a good thing by not addressing these issues.

I have tried several times to repair the game as well as updating everything I was told to and like I stated before I'm running NO addons right now at all, even removed them from the folder. How do I attach a game consultant file? The only error report I get is an info box that boots me from the game and says 'Data Load Failure" when I click on debug or details it does nothing but when I click on ignore it brings me back to the game, it's just a matter of time before it happens again however.

same thing was happening to me. I did everything they said to do ,fresh boot disable addons etc. worked fine until I used minion to put addons back in then it screwed up again. Removed minion and all adds. I then used curse client for addons and all was fine till I went to pvp. I had 70 fps in east and west but when went into battle it dropped to 1 fps. Everywhere else I was running 50 to 90 fps. Go figure !

I get this once or twice a game session after 1.2.3/4, clicking Debug pops up the bug report dialog for me to send a report to ZOS. The "Data load failure" popbox indicates it's a problem loading some art data.

Here is what really irritates me. I send this in and the email I got back was a reply about lag issues in PvP Cyrodil.

I literally send them my reply above....they don't even read stuff.
I'm probably not going to be around much longer due to being unable to play the game that I actually like.

lots of bugs and crash issues but geez I actually like the game.

Thats my biggest issue, I think I've figured it out on my end though. I completely uninstalled java the reinstalled (it's Java 60 right now). Then disabled all my addons and started loading them one by one to see which ones if any would trigger the failure. In found it was my Wykkyd that I've been using and its the newest one. I can still run sky shards and my radar mini map without any issues. I haven't had any fps issues either in PvE and I don't play PvP so I don't know if they're still present or not. Give that a shot with the Java and addons if you're running any, hopefully it will work for you.

You don't need to reinstall Java. Elder Scrolls Online doesn't even use Java. Support don't know what they're talking about.

Data load failure was a bug introduced in patch 1.2.3. It hasn't been fixed yet.

I was just posting this because it DID work for me! I haven't had an error since I updated Java and I was getting them ALL the time! I know wykkyd has a hand in it as well but even when I disabled all my addons without doing Java it was still getting the error. Now I don't get it and am able to run the game with NO crashes. I was hoping to help people that were having this issue not open the gates for being called an idiot because I did what CS told me to and it worked.

It has nothing to do with Java...It does have something to do with their updates. I dont even have Java on my PC

THe ONLY thing that seems to resolve this error is to repair after every patch and hotfix update.

Repairs take too long if you don't have a fast internet connection. That's a last resort for me. I too have these errors with increasing frequency as my gaming session goes on. I have been doing the ignore once trick, but it has gotten me killed a couple times. It's so random. Sometimes it happens when I'm at a vendor, other times during combat. Never saw it until last patch.

The person that upgraded Java then was fixed is a clue. Java usually has funky security issues. Maybe the ESO client is not happy about something and the latest Java version just happens to change some hidden windows setting to something that the ESO client likes? I'm just brainstorming here, but something to think about.

Also considering some sort of resource leak as it relates to video, but probably won't pursue that until after next major patch.

The GameConsultant tool is the only thing that uses Java and that has nothing to do with the game client itself or this problem, no have 'open ports' or any of the other mumbo jumbo ZOS CS' boilerplates babble on about.

It's a bug, probably a memory corruption, which either got added in 1.2.3 or else was there before and is now being triggered hugely more than it was before.
