Sorc - Dark magic passives question

The last 2 tier passives for dark magic:
Persistence: Increases the duration of dark magic spells by X%
Exploitation: Increases critical strike chance by X% against targets affected by dark magic .
Do these work on shards knock down?
So would it give a slightly longer knock down along with better critical chance v a target whom was knocked down?

Animus✭✭The crit chance increase only works for dark magic spell. Knockdown is not dark magic, it's 'status' effect. So it wouldn't give the extra crit chance for your shard. Same with Persistence, it doesn't increase duration of a knockdown only for spell duration like rune prison and such. You also missed to read the main part of exploitation - it first says while using dark magic abilities.1 -
