Basically, my suggestion is this: Upon interacting with a door and holding down E (or whatever you have it mapped to), one of those beautiful circle menus that we all love will show, with three options, public, group, or solo. The player can then choose whether they want to go into that area with random people, with their group, or all alone. This will solve the issues players have with either wanting to group with only a select few people, or not wanting to group at all, and give players the choice to try dungeons or quests solo.
I think this could give the player base some new content as well, since they can now go back to dungeons they've completed and try running them solo. If someone wants to try to solo Spindleclutch, I say let them!
But enough about what I say. What does the community have to say about this?

Should players be able to choose whether an instance is public, group, or solo? 41 votes
Yes, we should be able to choose how we're instanced.
No, I like how the developers have done it.
I don't give a flying skeever tail.
