LOL ESO tells me my IP address is unrecognized

Just told me when I tried to log in from the same computer I do every single time I play this game that it's a different IP address then before. Had to copy and paste a code from an email they sent me.

What the heck is wrong with their system? I am playing the game fine right now but this has never happened before.

    Happens every time a large patch comes out.
    Basic circle of complaints on ESO Forums:
    1) Users: Fix game/class/bug
    2) Zenimax Online: Brings servers down and fixes issues and deploys patches.
    3) Users: OMG SERVERS ARE DOWN!!!!!
    4) Zenimax Online: Brings servers back up!
    5) See 1)

    They server reset and most likely lost or corrupted the key for your iip address. Since no record is found they verify your account. Is not nirmal but understandable after major hard rests/patches

    With the release of update v1.2.3 tomorrow, we have also made some increased security improvements to our account system. As a result, everyone will be prompted to enter a new one-time password, regardless of whether or not you’ve entered one before. Your one-time password will be sent to the email address associated with your account for The Elder Scrolls Online.

    It was announced beforehand this was going to happen.

    Not a bad question since I never got a e-mail myself. Seems only message I ever would see was about people pretending to be eso employees. Oh the fun have having to change the date on my pc just to launch the launcher and now having to wait fro a phantom e-mail every patch.

    Ok, so, to answer my own question, the email goes out when you attempt to log in. finally got the thrice damned patch to finish...

    Happy you were able to get in I have tried to sign in 5 times last night and 3 today and still never received a single e-mail. had no problems in the past but just not worth all this hassle. 17 dollars a month so I can not play there game nice job.

    Have you received other e-mails from Zenimax? And are you trying to do this more than once in ten minutes?

    And also people, is reading that difficult? The announcement on the login screen told you that this was going to happen.

    Ouch that sucks. Nothing is as frustrating as not being able to play when you want to.

    No email is being sent. Though in the past i've had no problems with them sending me the code. Hope it's fixed soon....sigh...

    Yeah, that's what I figured, finally got the patch, and it required me to enter the OTP, wasn't hard to figure out why it happened.

    Have you tried via both the client and the ESO website, if one doen't work usually the other does.

    When the login servers are being hammered the emails seem to get lost in their processes, so you can go 2+ hours without getting an email. If you're lucky you might manage to get one, but the issue should resolve itself (it did for me) when I tried during non prime time hours.

    I suppose all those that can't play, like last time, due to ZOS e-mail system not able to cope with the load and delivering already-expired codes (if indeed any code gets sent at all) should stop moaning too?
