deceiving real looking phishing mail

Today i got the following mail in my real mailbox (not the one on the forums).



At least i think its just a phising mail and not something genuine.

Since I never click any link sent to me unless i am 100% sure where it is coming from, I just checked my account and all seemed to be ok.

How did they get your email in the first place? Have you bought gold using that email on one of the sites or belong to any other communities with the same email? It's strange, that they'd know to target you.

I wonder that myself.

No i have never bought gold or services or anything like that.

But i know that i get emails like this for other mmo's as well, even for mmo's i have never played. I guess they got hold of my email in some way, maybe at the time they hacked big companies like SOE. I am using this email for almost 20 years now and used it to play since i set my first steps in the first mmo: meridian '59.

I think they send scam mails to every email they have, regardless if you play a game or not, just in the hopes they catch someone. But usually their emails are full of mistakes and sometimes its just a typed message. This one looks pretty real.

It's a known scam, the actual link in the email goes to a hacker website ...

Can have hacked ESOhead.com, Tamriel Founter or some other fan site to get e-mail address. If he use the same e-mail address to those sites as this.
