Re-skilling sorcerer

Just arrived in Grahtwood VR7.
Any thoughts on a survivable solo Sorc build? The one I have used till now is not serving me very well at this point. Not discounting the distinct possibility that i simply don't know how to play... Only wish i found this out before i hit vr7

Pulsar + crit surge and pray you won't run out of magicka before they die.

Edit: And Inner light or whatever the 20% crit chance is called.

I run with Crystal shard, Surge, Rune Prison, Mutigen, and the main heal staff aoe heal I forget the name of it. This works for most fights. CC one then alternate crystal shards and kyte. Heal as needed. I pull out the Dinosaur chicken for bigger mobs that cant be cced. If things get tough Ill drop atronoch then cc the one he's not hitting. By using resto staff heavy attack and crystal shard as most of your damage the resto staff will keep your magica fairly full. Hope it helps.

Basic Solo Spec:

Single Target: Force Shock (crushing shock morph) and Critical Surge
AoE: Pulsar or Elemental Ring and Critical Surge

Keep Inner Light up on both bars. Toss a Restraining Prison or Rune Cage on the single-target bar for pulls of two dangerous critters. If you're running out of magicka before fights end, develop Elemental Drain and cast it before fights. Also, be sure to wear 7 pieces of light armor, and have all the passives maxxed.

For bosses, use the Greater Storm Atronach ultimate. For large, dangerous packs, use Negate/ Suppress Magic on them. Both of those ulti's border on "I Win" buttons in small-scale PvE.

You can solo most of the outdoor packs in Craglorn with just those abilities on your bar.

I solod all the way to vr12 with this build as a sorcerer. I have been able to solo vr10 dolmens (assuming no storm atronachs as well of course)

1 - mages fury. The execute burst damage is key as blowing up one or two monsters very quickly is key.

2 - crystal fragments. Your main damage dealer cc spell.

3 - crushing shock. Used for damage, status effects and to trigger crystal fragments.

4 - hardened ward. Survivability skill. This is a life saver. Use liberally.

5 - clannfear/inner light. Depends on the encounter. Clannfear to off tank large pulls
