It's been four hours and am hoping for some kind of "hey guys, just another half hour or so..."

Insanyti✭✭✭I definitely agree. While still within the 'norm' of the four hours of downtime, the most recent past maintenance was completed much quicker than this. Perhaps it is because there are more changes/updates/fixes being implemented, but I'd just REALLY, really would like an update.
PLEASE, any update. Estimation of completion would be an added bonus. -
SinfulSoul✭✭✭Some news would be good. Let us know whether we can do other stuff for a couple more hours, or if the servers will soon be opened. It's nice to be able to plan ahead for this kind of thing. -

This is the standard time for patch or server side fix, I mean the last maintenance was only an hour, so I'm hoping they fixed something as I have noticed unusual lag spikes the past couple of days -

Four hours is a long time for normal maintenance. This was obviously a patch (as we can now see ourselves) but, once again, they failed to tell us this even though they'd obviously planned it all along. Clowns running the circus... -

ZOS needs to improve their communication approaches immediately as they are horrific right now. It is insulting to players as ZOS should be ashamed of themselves for it. Is there another gaming company that communicates as poorly and as infrequently as ZOS does? I cannot imagine anyone is worse than they are.

Defiance(trion) before the year mark, they made these guys look downright chatty. Defiance improved their communication somewhat and now zenimax is regressing to what defiance used to be. Anex✭✭✭Just saw there is a patch (was wondering why it was taking over 4 hours instead of the usual two-ish).
I wish they would say "hey! patch day today!" when i is a patch instead of maintenance so I don't waste time trying to check on it. I guess they stopped doing that because of the one time they tried to implement a patch and it failed, but that is silly.
Standard for MMOs is that you tell it will be a patch AHEAD of time and then also mention what the patch should include. I like ESO, but sometimes it becomes painfully obvious they don't have a clue how some things work in regards to MMORPGs. -
