Imperial Upgrade Question

I'm wanting to upgrade to the imperial edition and was wondering if you can craft on any character or if you have to be an imperial to craft the imperial. I know you can morph armor into imperial but I like crafting more.

✭You can't craft any imperial on the upgrade.
You can right click on armor and weapons you own and turn them into imperial, but then they are bound to your account.

Yes, if you play an imperial, for the crafting.

Any of your characters can change their gear to look like the Imperial style, with the exception of dropped set pieces. Also, once you change your gear to Imperial, it becomes soul bound and you cannot sell or trade it to another player. -
