"This is going to sound crazy, but please hear me out" would have been a much more appropriate title.
Using "so" implies that, since it sounds crazy, we should listen, rather than despite it sounding crazy.

I think the fear of cookie cutter players is one of the things that set this game back from truly playing the way you want to play.

They already implemented your idea. We're called Templars.
.It is not impossible for thousands of people to test skills and come up with the five best ones.
Those (skills) would still be the required ones for dungeons because people are jerks.
