ZoS mixed messages and Leaderboards

So I am curious here Zenimax as to why you even did the leaderboards in the first place. You have proven that the game is a DPS race, and yet you stated it would not be this way...you even went as far to remove the ability to see other players DPS so they wouldn't get singled out, but then you introduced the leaderboards and trials timers. Kind of a mixed message don't you think?

To top that off, why am I getting notifications constantly about peoples trial times? If I want this information I can just look at the leaderboards but you insist on shoving it in front of me through a notification. I have 5 guilds.....4 of which are trade guilds meaning there is ONE I actually care about within trials. I don't care about those poor *** in the trade guilds who ended up in a pug and have a trial time of like 235 minutes.....but I do see people commenting about it, and even judging the character with those numbers as if he was solely responsible for the timer. Even more conversations begin to sprout up about "this persons dps" or "class can't cut it", ZoS do you realize the rift you have caused within your game? Between your players?

If you are going to allow the leaderboards to stay, then you need to change the ability to see other peoples DPS, and let the game unfold as it will allowing players to see the imbalances you have created first hand.

I know there are variables here, I know it can be a "bad player" or too many deaths in the trials from first time runners adding to the timer, but lets be honest...the leaderboard is an EPEEN stroking contest, and it is broadcasted to 5 guilds, and posted for all to see.

With a solid/knowledgeable group, it is a DPS race, there is no denying it. And players are singled out due to non viable builds. I will already know someone's DPS output just by grouping with them, I have been part of a guild that required screenshots of your dps before they allowed you on a permanent trials team....I know, I know...strong dose of Elitism there, but some people are very competitive with their gaming, and I don't judge them for it. It just seems to me that ZoS is a strong supporter of this form of elitism so I fail to understand why they took so much care in "protecting" their players and hiding the DPS meters from others.

With the leaderboards mentality you may as well have just introduced Gear Score and allow the DPS/Healing/Damage taken to be seen by all players. The whole concept just seems like a very mixed message, and I fail to understand your goals in doing so.
