Are there any zones left with players?

Craglorn was really busy until the Anomaly nerf now the anomalies sit there active for hours and no one even comes. Zone chat is pretty much dead. You don't see anyone walking around. Is there anywhere that has players anymore?

In hindsight maybe nerfing the one thing that had people logging in and playing a day before a huge number of subs ran out was a bad idea.

    I'm Pact player
So our Dominion zones (Cadwell's Gold zones) is nearly empty. This is really pain in the arse trying to find partners to worldbosses or dolmens.

Can't imagine how it goes for Covenant or Dominion players, because their population was always lower than Pact's...

Was gonna say, how can you tell if the zone is empty without being in it..

Might help to say which server as well. EU zone pops have stayed fairly strong even in the VR zones so could just be a NA issue.

Riten 1-50? I was in Riften 10 minutes ago (VR10 for me) and it was a ghost town.

The 1-50 zones are generally pretty populated, all the way through Coldharbour. The early VR zones usually have players, but the higher VR zones are empty. Maybe a lot of players haven't reached V10 yet, although I see tons in Cyrodiil. Or maybe that the VR grind is unappealing to most people so they quit or play less.

Not many. Starting to feel like SWTOR before they merged the servers when lots of time you would be the only person on fleet. Sadly ESO has no servers to merge unless they merge NA and EU and later merge the console servers in as well. Might be the only thing that gets more than 10 people in a zone. Doubt that would help either though.

Cyrodiil during prime time hours. The beginner zones always seem busy. The VR areas are empty for a reason.

    Because VR sucks.

That is true. I don't think people expected "end game" to be the end of the game. No 4 man content, 2 very short raids 50% of the classes have a hard time even getting in to, quest you can't do with your friends because everyone is phased or at a different part of and on top of that the rewards are a single green item. What are we supposed to be doing at V12?

I haven't played today, but yesterday and the day prior I didn't have any issues finding groups for Greenshade (VR 3 for Daggerfall) group content (world bosses and dolmens).. even had a group of six go through and do all the achievements for the public dungeon with me. Typically see 2-3 people questing in the same areas as I as well. Playtime is usually sometime between 5pm and 2am (Eastern, NA server).. not that entire time, but I play on and off during that time frame.

The VR zones will always likely seem empty. You have to figure a good half to player population doesn't want to play the same exact character and class through the entire game. So that eliminates half of all subscribers from ever entering a VR zone.

I only do so to look for copper and motifs so that I can craft rare looking gear for my lower level alts.

Of the 50% remaining... many were power levelers who raced through the game to max level and realized there is nothing more to do. They have probably mostly left.

The VR "content" of just re-doing the other alliances doesn't seem to have been well thought out. It excludes a good majority of players for a number of different reasons.

Riften 1-50, NA is also packed whenever I'm on. Last night it was packed enough that my FPS was suffering, and I've got a solid rig.

Keep in mind, Riften and its AD/DC equivalents will always tend to be higher population that most of the other zones (excepting maybe the entry level zones), for exactly two reasons: Vampires and Werewolves. It is also entirely possible to run up to Riften from Stonefalls at level ~5.

I personally would like to know more about how ESO mega server technology works before I make any assumptions on player populations. I know on EvE Online, they publish official reports on their mega server and population clusters... Some areas seem desolate, while others are extremely crowed and laggy.

At times it seems I cannot enjoy a single quest without some player taking it upon themselves to destroy my mob(s) with their AoEs (I'm perfectly fine doing my own killing), while other times (albeit rare) there is not a single other player within eye/ear shot.

Does anyone here know how the servers spawn other player characters? Does it phase them in pre-determined areas as needed, or are you loaded into a phase where you stay until you hit another load screen?

I guess that is one way to get rid of the bots, no one to buy their crap means they go away LOL. Sooooooooo that is their plan to combat bots, nerf the game to death until no one wants to play.

I am still having fun playing but I have noticed a serious decline in players since last week, purely anecdotal, no solid proof that pops are down but sure feels that way.

not good, I am DC and the Rift is my V10 zone, its ghost town, I never seen more than 10 people in the town of Riften.

Daggerfall does have more people, but still drastically less than 2-3 weeks ago.

I can only imagine ZOS will adjust VR difficulty. They are effectively leveling paths and not end game anyway.

The game serious needs a level scaling Adventure Zone starting at level 50/VR1 so players have an alternative to VR grind. The new AvA options will help especially the pre-VR Cyrodiil. It will be packed with players. I have yet to see a game where pre-cap pvp wasn't the most fun ... usually by far.

I saw a lot of people in SIlver VR. Tapered off in Al'kir (though there were still enough people to flash mob dolmens. Bango was a liitle sparse.

They just fixed a bad story quest in Bangokori(sp?) for us in the EP, so we can move onto Gold.

Yesterday I literally plowed through the Bango Plot quests at the same time as like 45 people. We all then Jumped into the AD, tripling the player count for the rest of the night

My guess is the average non-powergamer is VR 3-4 at the moment. That's where I port back to craft and empty my bags

Probably this, I reached VR recently and have absolutely no plans of doing the VR zone content unless for some reason I run out of skill points and need to do these. Although I have all the skyshards/dungeon points to get first... So probably never gonna do VR zones. I'll save those for alts.

Any post that asks "is there any zones with players" and only lists checking Craglorn is not worth responding to.

    Crap, I just did.

Anyway, anyone citing VR population in a 2 month old game as any kind of valid measurement when 1-50 zones are usually full of people is silly.

1-50 zones seem to be active, not launch first month active but active. It seems that is because no one wants to be leveling VR content or have finished it and moved to alts.

Come August there will be another decline in pop as those who purchased 3 month subs fail to renew and things should even out as far as population goes. Unless of course some major nerf/break/bug drives people away.

At this point in the game you don't have to be anywhere close to a powerleveler to be in Crag, VR or even VR12. In fact you could have reached V12 at a pretty casual pace doing quests by now. This game is not old school EQ it doesn't take that long to level even doing it the slow way.

All I know is 3 days ago craglorn was super populated and today you see maybe one person trying to sell something every few minutes and might run across a couple people. It is at least 75% less populated than it was a few days ago. I tried going to the last three VR zones and they were equally empty. Even when I was in the V10 zone you couldn't even find enough people to do dolmen and world bosses.
