Why dont we have an option to convert armour to our race style?

Like with the pre-order bonus, you can convert it to imperial style. Why cant convert a style to our current race? I seriously dont see a reason why not. Imperial is more rare (in my opinion) and it doesnt really affect anything.

But, then, the IE owners would complain about losing one of the unique perks of paying $80-$100.

They would like to implement that . As long as you paid for it like the CE people did .

I can't speak for others, but as you can see from my post above, I for one as an Imperial Edition owner would welcome this being added.

The Imperial Edition gave us an extra pet, a beautiful white horse and an extra race that can join any faction. Anyone complaining about this feature being added for other races would not only be a very selfish person, but also not be playing any other race than imperial. I doubt there are many of those around.

Also crybabies on the forums are never sources to listen to as a developer.

Can't see why those with Imperial Edition would complain to this, I wouldn't. Normally to get imperial armour you'd have to find someone with imperial motif. For those with the imperial edition they can do that easily.

Having the same option for your race shouldn't be problematic as that's the only style you can craft anyway from the beginning. For the sake of "being different", the option could be to go to a crafting stating and "change" your armour style, given that you have the style material as well as a few gold.

I bought the imperial edition for the horse to be fair, haven't used the Imperial Style much :)

I assumed they only did it for imperial because there's no imperial gear that drops anywhere otherwise. Of course that doesn't cover Daedric gear and the other rare motifs, but. Yeah.

Everyone can craft their own race's style. Just break down what you find and make new.

What if you pick up a nice blue piece while leveling and it clashes with the rest of your armor style? Will you deconstruct it for the slim chance of finding only 1 dwarven oil?

The way i see it Imperial Edition players will not lose a style but rather gain an extra style option while playing non imperial characters.

This would be a really nice feature actually. I like it.
That is unless of course they're working on a cosmetic/disguise system somewhere down the track. In which case this won't really be necessary.
Still, it should be relatively easy to put in place, after all they have the code already there for those that brought the Imperial Edition.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Because it takes away from crafting. If one wants a different race style, you have two options

    1) Pay another player crafter make for you (My crafting alt knows all but two race styles [14 styles in the game]) She knows about 80% of all the traits in the game too and she get her pants back....
    2) Put in the time / coin to learn the said style your self.

Using a menu system to "convert" armor into another style is cheating! You are doing it with out working for it. Thus, making crafting and styles of less value.

I like the system as it -- it gives people a reason to use my "service" to make items for them. It makes crafting worth while. We do not want everyone and their mother to craft everything in the game themselves with out putting the needed work to do it.

Preorder Explorer's pack perk only comes with maps, pet, and ability to be any race on any alliance. Imperial Edition comes with Imperial class on any alliance, and convert non-unique items to imperial style(not just for imperial class, any character you make can do this).

Bottom line is you didn't pay enough for this feature, even if they did put it in for all races

IMO I think a player should be able to alter the appearance to any of the racial styles they have the motif for. They should have to find the motif and learn the style, which would require to to have points spent in crafting, and the armor should do like the imperial morph, binding it to your account, but being able to change to any style you know would be cool IMO.

No they wouldn't. The point of CE is to be able to play Imperial and to turn any gear into Imperial style, which is the rarest motif available.
Allowing every other race to change their gear into their own style wouldn't touch CE buyers at all.

As somebody who has the CE, I don't see why anybody would complain about this as far as "I paid to convert to Imperial you didn't". My biggest objection is that it seems like a waste of dev time. Just get a new item made. Shouldn't be that expensive if you can't do it yourself. As somebody previously stated, there are a lot of other things for ZOS to work on.

I see dont see why we cant convert to our race style. That "have someone make it for you" Can be applied to the CE edition too. For the record, I also own the CE edition, thats what gave me the idea at the start.

As an IE owner myself, I don't know if there would be any fuse about losing a unique feature associated with this edition. Hell, the only reason I purchased this was so I could play any faction and get a very cheap horse. Everything else was simply worthless fluff or just not worth talking about. I have made scores of armor pieces for my Imp character. You know how many I have converted over to imperial? Zero

One, I find enough nickle in game to always have a large stash, two, the armor barely stays on long enough for me to get tired of looking at it, and three I tend to run in a disquise anyway.

So if you want my vote, I say give it to everyone. I really don't see it being a game killer feature in the least.

CE only gives you the option to convert to Imperial style, that particular choice does not need to be unlocked for everyone. And even if it was, who cares? I bought the CE mostly for the horse.

I would love to be able to craft in the style of my race. And I am an IE owner. Granted, my race is not Imperial. But I am sure they can figure out something fair to IE owners. For me the only reason I paid extra for IE is because I wanted to be able to create any race in whatever faction I chose. Everything else was just fluff. Too bad we have to pay for that perk, but don't get me started on that...

I own the CE, and I think this is a great idea. It's not like you're wanting to change the way crafting is done; you're talking about a single change to your own racial style. The way I see it, they already have the framework set up with the change to Imperial, so it's not a whole lot of dev time wasted, especially when they're wasting their time on other things that could wait.
