Permanent disguises breaking? Oh my...

So today I was beating up some Maormer soldiers in Greenshade and my Stormfist disguise just plainly disappeared into thin air. At first I though it's just a visual bug (happens from time to time), but when I opened inventory, it wasn't there, or equipped. It just vanished like any regular disguise that gets destroyed in single attack...

EXCEPT THAT I WAS USING THAT DISGUISE FOR AT LEAST 6 ZONES. It was supposed to be permanent. If anything was to break in that quest, it should have been the provided Sea Viper Armor (which I chose not to use and rather keep), not the one I was keeping as my biggest treasure.

It was one in a million opportunity when I bought it from the guild store - it was never there before or since (and I'm in 4 trade guilds).

I've already posted ingame /bug and used the "Ask for Help" feature, but since I'm still angry about it, I'm raising stink right now.

Could I PLEASE get it back?

No way. It's my favorite disguise, I always wear it.

What is different in the description of that disguise that indicates that it is permanent, as opposed to any disguise being lost when mobs see through it?

Nothing really. At first I thought it's the little lock icon on it, but apparently that just means the "looks" of the disguise is locked and won't change when you relog.

A disguise should be permanent while you do not have it's quest active, from what I've seen so far.

But I'm still VERY far from Eastmarch (which is like what, VR9? I'm VR3 in Greenshade), so it shouldn't just break like that.

I just hope it won't break again up until the quest where it's supposed to (aka in Eastmarch), but I guess from now on I'll take off any disguise (as a precaution) while doing any quest that provides another disguise.

I had a disguise do that to me also. It took me over a week to get it back.

It happened to me with a black leather disguise (cant remember the name).
Annoying! I had to redo the quest, thanks god its only a level 12 quest.
Now i only use disguises in Cyrodiil, where they seem to be safe.

Disguises are MEANT to break when you get them for their quests. They are just supposed to be unbreakable while you DO NOT have their quest active.

While you are on the quest and your disguise breaks, more of them usually drop from mobs (still, WHILE you're on the quest) or can be found in some container in the area.

Of course, but what if the disguise breaks two weeks after having finished a quest in a completely different area?
Yup, its a bug.

It is a bug , another thread already talked about the same thing and the guy had the same problem , support gave him a new disguise.

Just make sure you know the name of the disguise and then contact support , have fun.

That's exactly what I'm saying.
They are supposed to break DURING their OWN quests. If they break anywhere else (before or after their quest), it's a bug. I'm just lucky to get my disguise back in just a few hours thanks to great support. And now I pray that it won't break again.
