VGA graphics?

Here's a new one..last night I had some network issues where I couldn't connect to the game through the launcher. I fiddled with some windows network settings with no change. I was getting the 210 error so I restarted my router/modem. I ran antivirus/malware bytes with no viruses, but a few malware which I deleted.
After a final reboot, I tried to run ESO and it now starts in VGA mode and won't get out of it. I went into the game settings and it's still set for fullscreen and 1920x1080 resolution.
I have reinstalled Firefox as well as my graphics driver. The network issue seems to have been solved somewhere along the line, but now the game is unplayable.
Can/should I reinstall the game launcher or the whole game? I'm at a loss here...
btw, I was playing the game without any issues up to this point. Also, my wife was playing last night right next to me so I know it's something on my machine.

I had the same issue. I just had to close the game and restart the client and the issue was resolved

Uh, yea..if only it was that easy. I had to copy a shortcut from inside my ESO folder to my desktop to start the game normally. This seems to have fixed it..

Had to reinstall the entire game as the launcher was corrupt.
