(ZOS fixed the issue without any further action necessary on my part. Good job!)

While I don't agree with the *method* they are using for verification (email), the verification process itself makes sense. They aren't just going to change your information based on a ticket. If they did, how would you feel if someone else got into your account and changed things?

If you don't have a security question set up, SET ONE UP. It takes like 2 minutes.

QQ. Battle.net had years and years of work, to instantly expect the same is senseless. They do not have the best system, but at least some verification exists. Not sure how you have an account without the security question. I'm pretty sure that was mandatory.

As Sear said, set a question up. Takes literally no time or effort.

You HAVE to set up a security question when you create an account. Its not there fault you dont remember doing this...And second, it is there policy to ask and verify your account information for your security. In my opinion I'm glad and thankful they are doing this. Its just unfortunate that most people are way to arrogant to realize this...

And if you don't want to do it through email, they have a customer support number that you can call.

I had a similar problem regarding the forum. While two of my game customer service interactions were positive, the forum one was a nightmare. I needed to activate the forum account but either I didn't get the original set up email or it was accidentally deleted. Either way, I contacted them to set it up and it took approximately 6 email exchanges to get through to them what I wanted. They kept telling me to do things that I couldn't do because I didn't have a forum account set up. It was like one of those catch-22 situations; to do what they wanted, I needed to have a forum account, which I didn't have and wanted. By the end I was ready to pull out chunks of my hair in frustration. Eventually I did get it sorted and they were very apologetic for the misunderstanding. I just couldn't figure out how they misunderstood me, since the original request was fairly clear. I'm just wondering if some of their support staffing is sourced out of India or another non-English speaking location because it seems from the answers I got that English definitely wasn't a first language. And when that happens, its a lot easier for misunderstandings to occur.
