NB weapon swap

Why doesn't shadowy disguise persist through a weapons swap even when I have it on both bars. Any other self buff stays on when switching bars so why not the cloak?

Have you attempted to place a shadow disguise on the other bar as well before swapping?

Mage Light for example will turn off when you switch weapons unless you have it on your second bar as well.

    Because nightblade.

Back when I played defiance, after they did a sweeping change to grenades that no one wanted, every time they screwed something up, we would say "Because grenades" now on ESO it's "Because nightblade"
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Because weapon-swapping breaks stealth. Whether or not you agree with it, it is considered an action that will be noticed by NPCs if you are within their aggro-radius.

I would like to inform you that it dos not. I stay perfectly stealthed after weapon swap. The stealth animation will vanish after weapon swap, but not the stealth modus, so mobs won't see you.

[EDIT] Maybe it's different after 1.1.3 patch. Din't play since patch yet.

I would like to inform you that you haven't swapped weapons within range of an enemy.

If I am near an enemy and fully stealthed (no half-open iris, just one flat line with a dot in the middle), I will be detected if I swap weapons. If you don't believe me, go in the game and try it.

that's actually due to weapons as part of set bonuses.

I believe you, why shouldn't I. There is no surprise I wouldn't expect of Zeni. Sure I will try later on, when I'm back home from work.

[EDIT] But I am pretty sure it works for me regardless of distance to mob, or if the mob has detected me or not.

I've got dual swords and a bow on second bar. No set weapons. Stealth is with bow, then I swap to swords ans stay stealthed. No stealth animation though.

Hm doesn't seem to be doing that for me. Not even if I get so close that the line disappears and the eye appears since I am in danger of detection.

Is it just changing set bonuses, then? I hadn't realized that was a potentially unique characteristic of my weapons.

I have gear than maintains the set bonuses when I swap . I will try to see what happens if the swap changes the set later. I know that it changes the set bonus but I don't know if that breaks stealth.

that's actually due to weapons as part of set bonuses.

This has been my experience, although I can only speak of it happening with the regular sneak because I don't swap weapons when I use Shadowy Disguise. I think it's only if you have a different set bonus activated when you switch weapons.

If it happens for anyone who doesn't use set bonuses, maybe you have different offensive enchants on your weapons or something? I'm not sure why it would be happening in this case. I don't recall experiencing it until I crafted my first set.

Just tested it. Works just fine.

Attack mob with bow from 3 meters away, it aggroed -> stealth using Shadowy Disguise when mob is 1 meter away-> mob freezes, couse it has lost you as target -> swap weapons -> mob is still frozen, stealth animation is gone though. no after stealth boni are applied yet -> attack mob with surprise attack -> mob is stunned, after-stealth boni are applied

Works fine for me. You wanna me make a video of that?
