Get Rid of Armor Degradation

I personally don't like this system and I think could be the culprit in some cases of why vet players get damaged by so much sometimes (huge loss of armor). Just keep an armor value the same thru out it's repair value. Armor will still get broke and not function, but would still maintain it's usefulness till 0% where then it'd need to be repaired.

Otherwise, armor should be replaced/repaired often before values get below, lets say, 50%.

Edit* And I completely missed the point of this thread...
Yeah, the loss in the value of armour is kind of annoying.

Don't remove the degradation as it's a gold sink which the game needs, but continue to monitor and address the issues like rapid decreases in dungeons. I shouldn't have to leave a dungeon I was trying to make money in at a loss because of armour repairs.

The only time I really suffer from Armor Decay is when I get lazy and let mobs knock me around because I could care less about it because my self healing or health pool makes the fight inconsequential. Or those times that I'm too lazy to run around terrain and just take damage dropping off cliffs.

If I make it a point to not jump off cliffs, and actually use Block and Dodge mechanics, my repair bills are always negligible. In summary, getting knocked on your butt, and jumping off cliffs, contribute more towards armor decay than actually dieing.

Armour decay does not come from damage taken for starters.

It is perfectly fine now. Go grinding for kill xp and you reap the rewards of the drops but rack up decay. Go questing normally and you rack up a tiny bill.

Play your way and stop complaining.

Armour damage is caused by us using our attacks & abilities, not by being hit by enemies. I agree that this is a stupid system, but Zos have said that's how they want it to work.

Please note, Armour damage is caused by us playing, not by enemies get hits in.

Having to pay a bit of in-game gold (which is pretty easy to get, and seems to start pouring in at the higher levels) is a lot better than XP loss/deleveling.

But it shouldn't get damaged from just being around other players, no. Jumping from high places, sure - I do a lot of that myself, and it should cause wear and tear on my gear. So should being hit by mobs. And dying.

We wear out our clothes just by wearing and washing the things; these adventurers live rough tough lives, and yes, their clothes/armour should suffer at least some wear and tear from activity.

Armor decay is caused by us getting XP. Oh, and by players around us getting XP as well. Oi!

And the fact that despite having Blacksmithing skills we can't repair anything on the fly. Kits? cost just as much and you need more than one.

Strangest part is if you get /stuck due to terrain or game issues you also get damaged. I mean we didn't do anything and you still need to pay something.

The cost of a full gem also is rediculous.

I seriously hate this as well.

Even more they don't give players a gear damage degration bar to keep an eye on it - you have to use an addon.

I would like to see this removed from the game, but the fan/rp'ers? good luck.

So play only on a xp-based schedule or stfu pretty much?

That's poor advice imo. Gear Decay should be tweaked to allow more xp gain with less decay - and as someone who suffered from the rapid gear decay bug for awhile, and after that "fix" I still see a steady amount of decay compared to what I saw during Beta, Early Access, etc. I'd say the system is still not functioning the way it should be.
