Game crashes right after I press Play

Right after downloading the new patch everytime I press Play I get this windowed screen and right after it a crash report. I understand this is due to the new windowed mode in the patch, and i've changed the usersettings.txt code to 1 instead of 2, but the issue is still persistent.
I'm on a Macbook Pro, any suggestions?
