Game tough to play

Flame me if you will, but this game is getting tiresome. Its fight and die, fight and die, rinse & repeat until you finish the quest or dungeon. Over time for the average player, like me, the game becomes an exercise in endurance and just how much frustration you are capable of handling, not to mention the cost to repair. By the way, with a game designed with so much dying why is the repair cost so high, and resurrect stones so expensive????

The amount of mistakes or miscues you can make in a fight with either a Boss or three or more npc’s is zero. You have to execute perfectly. I am sorry, but this human is not made that way. Lol I had 14 mistypes in this epistle I had to correct.

And, grouping with friends must be coordinated with the phasing aspect of the game. You just don’t drop what you’re doing and go help a friend in a tough quest, in many cases you have to be on the same quest and the same phase to actually be able to help. An MMO should foster grouping not make it difficult, in my humble opinion.

I really want this game to succeed, but the future for ESO seems short-lived for me right now.

I found I was suffering that same experience and then went and looked at my build, read some thoughts from others playing my class and adjusted it.
I seem to be enjoying the game a lot more now and some boss fights are a nice enjoyable blend of strategy and thought rather than mash buttons and win or lose.

Also consider if your gear is up to the mark, are you using set bonus items for your level, are you wearing the best armour for your level as well with at least blue level (this is pretty cheap to do)

Also if it's content where it's possible to group try asking in zone chat if anyone is free to give you a hand solving some of the quests or bosses you're stuck at.

While I understand your frustration I would rather have a game where I have to work and feel accomplished for beating an encounter than the no skill/challenge offered by other MMO games in terms of normal gameplay.

I agree it is a tiresome game.

Just remain grouped with another player during main quest instances, and you'll find it much ....

As long as I pay attention, the game does not seem that much harder solo at VR6 than it did at 20. Or maybe I have just forgotten how pre-50 leveling was.

There was a period of adjustment at VR1 to VR2 whare I died a lot more. Started paying more attention to how slotted skills, passives, and gear work together and it helped. I also examine mob type (healer?, 2 archers? etc) on 3 mob pulls now and have a plan. I try to make sure my ultimate is farmed up for the min-boss dungeon and quest NPC's. All these little things seem to make the game easier.

Also, for when death does occur, those "resurrect stones " are best bought empty and then just use the Soul Magic skill to farm some mobs and fill the shards. With proper morph you can fill two shards from one mob. Although usually the shards I get from the solo dungeon bosses are enough.

I am still enjoying the solo leveling. The game is not as easy as some but certainly not too tough.

This is coming from just another average player.

Repair costs are not super-high compared to some MMOs I've played. Also, buy soul gems empty, not full. Learn to love and use soul trap.

I'm not scoffing at you, though, OP. What I've realized is that this game doesn't actually give you as much leeway to play in varied styles as they'd like you to think ... and some things are extremely surprising, like the fact that restoration staves are actually not just a viable healing setup but also, in some circumstances, a better damage/attack choice then destruction staves. Things like that you just have to find out the hard way. Or ask on the forums and get fifty different answers, all conflicting

Also, this is not the kind of game where you can take on armies, no. I hesitate before attacking a pack of three enemies, any level, any class. I don't think that's just you.
I have just told you more than I know.

History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.

It is very simple. Go to General, click to go to page 3k and you are at the oldest messages which are 2014.

Then you do what this guy is doing which sends a message to Zos that he owns their forum since they are clearly not doing anything about it.

Yeah, it’s really weird. I come hear to see what’s new, and I feel like I am visiting an ESO museum. Cool for history, but its a little awkward.

Oh well, don’t know why this person is doing this, but just means finding current stuff is more work. Not that anything huge is posted at this time anyway. Still, a bit troubling though.
