what i mean is a post or list on what happens if you do certain things that are punishible. here is a Rough Example of one i found on SWGEmu.com with what they and gives an insight on if you do certain things what the punishment would normaly be (changeable)
here is my rough example:
<In-Game>
Hacking- PermaBan
Exploiting - (no idea but insert here)
Harrassment - temp ban (insert how long here)

<Forums> (mainly forum bans)
Spam - Temp Ban (can escalate to permaban if insistent on doing it)
Harrassment - Temp Ban (insert how long here)

well u get the picture. for the temp ban options you would get some warnings before put in place..you know.

point is. we need to know what our punishment is for what we do. it may add in some incentive on what happens when we are bad >:)

can you think about putting this in. again it may help keep us in line :P

    Honestly mandatory sentencing is a poor idea at best. Justice shouldn't be one size fits all. It shouldn't be bereft of human understanding and compassion. The reality is that intent, character, and necessity are all elements that should, and ought to be taken into consideration.

    This proposal might have merit if this companies staff behaved unprofessionally and pursued a self serving agenda, but in truth they don't do that. They are fair, and even handed even if they do seem to be severely overworked. Really they should continue to operate on a case by case basis.

    Regardless of all of that. Listing penalties only creates a situation where players could run a cost benefit analysis of certain behaviors. Let me put it to you this way if the penalty is paltry in comparison to the potential reward. Then many would opt to engage in the behavior, because they still win even if they get caught in the act.

    Lets say someone finds an exploit that generated a great deal of gold. Let us say for an hours worth of exploiting they earn a normal weeks worth of gold. If they knew if they got caught for doing so they would get a three day ban. They are more likely to cheat. Rather then less likely to cheat.

    The deterrence of cheating is strongest when it is like Pandora's box. I mean it could be anything in there up to and including a permanent ban. Why chance it at all. There is a reason people grumble about the proverbial slap on the wrist. They know weak punishments encourage the breaking of rules, because what is gained is almost always worth more then the cost of the punishment that will be received.
