Stuck at launcher loading screen

Get stuck during the initial Launch of the game (Loading...). It sits and hangs and doesn't update to the following screen which loads the screen with the 'Play' button.
Contacted CS in the past with almost no help or sign of a fix. Usually after banging away at the launcher, it magically starts the updates, but today it's totally farked.
Very upset, downloaded the patch last night, woke up this morning at 99% completed, 10 megs of the patch left to apply (ARGH! So close...) so I cannot start the game by skipping the launcher and directly using eso.exe either.
Cancelled subscription, tired of the launcher not working. How can a company not even have a properly working launcher... argh... Guess I gotta go back to chasing tail... woooah is me...
