Game is Now Nearly Unplayable

I have an older computer... I have had it for nearly 8 years now and it has gotten me by. I was able to play wow successfully for a long time (6 years) playing on medium setting yet still running 70 fps.

I am able to play ESO on low settings so long as I stay away from the large groups in cyrodiil. I've become known in my guild as the road ganker because I stay on the paths killing what I can.

After patch I've been experiencing constant game crashes in and out of Craglorn (with and without addons enabled). Is this avoidable? Is there any way I can get this game to work on minimal settings? Do I have to quit this game until I can afford a new computer? I know that I'm not the only one out there with an older computer.

Here's my computer specs (dont laugh lol)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4400@2.00GHz 2.00GHz
Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB
32 bit
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HG 4300/4500 Series

I've checked my drivers as well, all up to date

since patch RAM has been an issue as *LOT* of players reported a memory leak on the new client
this memory leak will cause a crash as soon as your mem is full, and with only 4gigs, you will get there fast

I just can say : wait for the fix

I really think that ZOS should make a battlemaster's corner presentation for your play style like they did for the "Shadow Knight". You have a truly unique game-play style.

PS. Upgrade the video card and trow 4GB more in there(not for this game, but for better usage in general).

thats too but try to use program like game booster if u dont utilise it till now. maby u system is too busy by some other apps & services running background. it will get off all what is not needed to run system properly leave all u resources for game. really try it

I tried to upgrade my RAM but I couldn't find anything that fits my old slot lol. It's DDR2 I think.

I admire your dedication to an old computer. My computer on the other side of things is almost top of the line for everything. Only completely upgraded 2 months ago.

Here is the kicker. I had to RESTART mine last night because Windows was having a memory error. The game is @#$#@'d. I monitored it with an app and yes the game is eating up the systems memory. Memory Leak!!!

is the client 32 or 64 bit? if its 32 more than 4 giga ram really don't matter :P

IS the game even complied and linked with the flags that allow it to exceed the 2GB standard memory limitation on windows 32bit applications. Even so, this only allows up to 4Gb on a 64bit windows system.

32bit XP can be altered to allow individual applications access to 3GB of ram, but this takes a change to a boot variable. Vista and Windows 7 you have to use a tool called bcdedit to patch in the memory model change.

Google /3GB switch

Even so, its pointless unless Zenimax have compiled and linked the game to use the extra memory.

If the game benefits from more ram.. Come on Zenimax, send us a full 64bit client please.. WOW's been 64bit for several years now. And while not 64bit, Everquest 2 was recompiled and relinked to support the enlarged memory pools.

if you're gonna put more memory in, you'll need to upgrade your OS to x64 as x32 only supports 3.5gb

but yea, as mentioned before, there's some kinda new memory leak in the latest patch.

yep after about 15-20 minutes of play (not counting load longer load screen times) it will be using all 8gb of my memory, and will just crash the whole thing. So hopefully when this gets fixed everything will run as it did before the patch.

Such a shame. I had high hopes.
