Elemental Wall (Fire) Looks Like Garbage Now

Title says it all.

Old one looked great, a giant field of fire. New one...not so much just kind of glowy with embers. Really cant tell where the edges of it are so you arent 100% sure if mobs are in it or just outside of it.

Please give us back the old animation!

    It can't really be called elemental wall now, it's more like elemental walk. As it looks like a weird glowy footpath.

    That being said my destruction staff is not high enough for that yet since i never use, expect on my DK which i took a break from before patch

    The point was to differentiate it from NPC fires because it was causing a lot of confusion, so they can't just go back to the old one. If the new one is that pitiful though (haven't seen it for myself yet), then maybe we should petition for something better but different enough to be able to tell who the fire belongs to.

    I haven't seen it, but what's with all the green rings in pvp? It looks so ugly and is terribly distracting.

    The walls of fire were arguably the best effect in the game.

    The new effect is awful, it makes me not even want to play my mage because I specialized in fire and Elemental Blockade (morph of Elemental Wall) just looks terrible now. Its like glowing veins and embers...where's my beautiful carpet of fire? Elemental Blockade was one of my main attacks and I loved it but now it looks pitiful.

    Yes, I get why they did it to differentiate our fire from NPC fire but come on this if horrible. Make the NPC fire blue or green for all I care I want my fire back. They used the same effect on the bow skill Scorched Earth and it looks terrible too. In the heat of battle in grassy areas I would watch for the flames to die down and then attack with Elemental Blockade again if needed, now I have to listen for the fire sounds and hope the NPCs are in the "fire" because its harder to tell if they are in the attack zone or not.

    Zenimax I am not happy with this change and want the old fire effect restored.

    How is this even considered fire?

    That move looks more like it would make the other player dance around a bit and put on his sandals than something that would turn them to ash... :s

    No, no, it's just a healing spell indicator. But it's incredibly bright and once you get into Cyrodiil, you'll know what I mean by distracting. Green. Green everywhere.

    I do love the beautiful carpet of fire as stated by @Jennifur_Vultee‌

    "Burn, baby, burn." is what I love about the fire mage, even going as far as picking the range touch morph for the awesome effect and ignoring the perks by the other.

    This one do looks badass, if and only if there's fire spewing out of them cracks. Colours matching the crack of course.

    Its perfect, screw the looks.. If you did dungeons especially VR dungeons, you hated this skill ALLOT, it makes you miss other Fire from bosses .. srsly why im i even explaining this -_-

    Because the change looks like crap. Here's an idea: Change the NPC's fire and leave ours alone. Of the two groups one of them is actually paying money to be in the game....

    No comment on the current one, glad they axed the old one though. Group content was a nightmare against fire-wielding foes. Voice chat was filled with "is that our fire?". Was so difficult to see other flame effects under all that fire. Agree though that the word wall is very wrong, not that I felt the old one was really a wall either.

    My guess is that if you gave the new "crappy" one to the NPCs, you wouldn't be able to see it over the "good" one and thus not be able to avoid it.

    honestly this change makes me want to cry. This was my favorite effect and pretty much the entire reason I chose to make a character specializing in destruction-fire staff (well that and impulse). I actually named him "Walks-Through-Flames"...but he doesn't really do that any more. Now I don't feel all that motivated to play with him..., there goes my hours I put into this character :( It was so awesome to set the ground ablaze! and now.... it's like a little cough of warm air. I actually thought the skill was broken for a while after the change because I couldn't even see it in the midst of battle, and it just blends in with the molten veins that Molten Weapons already does. (This is also precisely why I don't like frost staff - the wall of elements effect for it is lame and barely visible, again like a meek little cough of blue-tinted air.) I've been hoping against hope that the flame effect would be changed back, or at least one of the morphs would actually have the fire affect again...but I don't want to waste skill points on either of them if they're not going to. I'm really not using this skill any more because of this change. I'm supremely disappointed!!!! I can see the point about it being hard to distinguish enemy and ally effects, but honestly there has to be a better way than making what was one of the particular Joys of playing, particularly anti-climactic now. As someone else said - why take the cool effect away from the players who are actually paying to enjoy looking awesome in battle? How is making something that was awesome look lame a good choice?!?!? Basically you gave the kids (eye)candy and then said, "give that back, actually you can have some peas instead." :(

    and as a side note - why am I worked up about this? Because I love this game, and it hurts when something you love gets made less wonderful.

    That is the kinda obvious answer.
    The change was all about seeing ENEMY fire attacks between your fire attack.
    If they gave it to the NPC's it would be even harder to spot thier attacks. Wich kinda works against the goal here...

    Also think about player impact here:
    Only one palyer (maybe out of a 12 man trial group) needs to know if he placed his flames "right". And might be remotely interested in teh graphcis effect.
    Everybody (including the fire player himself) needs to know they have to dodge that fire attack.
    So wich one would you make less obvious?

    First World problems much?
    If this minor annoyance is all it takes to make you drop the concept, then it was never that important for you anyway.

    "The Graphics looks different now, my game experience is ruined" crowd is not nearly as big as you like to believe.
    It does not even register compared to all the players who were annoyed by it. Doing something for a minority while annoying a majority does not sounds like a good deal.

    They will propably change it again, once they found a better solution anyway.

    I dont use this spell but I agree...the original was one of the coolest effects in the game. The new one BLOWS big time. I was pretty diassapointed when this happened.

    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.
