Bots! New Tactics! Speed Hacks!

So I just got into Riften for my nightly deconstruct and inventory cleaning ritual before I log off for the night, and saw the most brazen hacking yet.

As we all know, Riften is a haven for Bots at the moment. You can spend an hour reporting them and they still keep coming.

Now however, they have become even more brazen. Not only do the fly, but they use speed hacks.

I seen them running past me at a speed beyond human, phasing right through a building and moments later coming right back through it, faster then ever.

What's even funnier is the little cloud of dust they kick up for running so fast.

Unfortunate thing about this....is it's not really funny any more. I hate to admit it but ESO is a haven for Bots and I just cannot report them any more. I would rather spend time doing my thing, then attempting to help clean up the mess that this games system helped to create from the start.

I hope you guys have some devastating things in store for the Bots with Content Patch 1.1 and I REALLY hope it works well.

Nothing new here, just variations on a theme.

1.1.2 I think is a critical moment for ZOS in their battle against the bots. If we see no serious reduction is botting and in particular a rediction in the number of types of bot .. pathing bots, tele-bots, invisi-bots, no-clipping bots (aka. flyers and movers-through-walls) .. then that would seem pretty concrete proof ZOS haven't the ability to deal with the basic syste, design flaws that allow them to happen on such a horrendously massive scale.

Yes, all MMOs suffer from botting, some more than others, some very little, but it's undeniable that right now ESO is literally orders of magnitude worse than any other. ZOS has now had 6 weeks of 'analysing' it's now time to see what there' analysis' has allowed them to DO!

Absolutely 100% this. They had 6 months of beta, they are approaching two months of live paid service. If they can't get their act together by the end of this month I have no confidence in their ability or desire to ever do so.

Elder Scrolls is a franchise rooted in role play and immersion. The botting problem destroys this. Every public dungeon I go in, literally, EVERY SINGLE ONE, from Auridon to Reaper's March, ALL EMPTY (of NPC's, value, and entertainment), and full of bots.

They completely ruined the game with this.

Not only is it aggravating to the point I just log off after wasting an hour reporting and bypassing another worthless empty dungeon, but the disappointment of a franchise I respected allowing this multiplies that frustration exponentially. Before you tell me "we're working on it" again have a look at my ignore list, full of dozens of bot accounts I not only reported over the last weeks but took the time to FRAPS in the act and post on youtube. All still there, none of them banned. Hell, the same damn bots are still farming the dungeons I reported them in four levels ago!

I have cancelled my sub and won't re-subscribe until this is fixed. I doubt it will be, so I have already updated my FFXIV and Rift installs to help break the "new shiny" addiction and condition my mind for the ultimate disappointment which is leaving ESO behind as a lost cause.

Sorry, but no game is worth that much frustration and futility. The world is frelled up enough as it is without having to witness greed and ineptitude on a massive scale invading something that used to be one of life's few pleasures.

Plenty of fish in the sea...

It is worth adding that I wouldn't be nearly as disappointed if ESO was a totally crappy game. It isn't. It is a really cool game. It will have to do a lot more than talk however if it expects to have any staying power.

I was just going to say, that is not new. They have been doing that from day one.

You need to stop wasting your time recording bots and actually play the game, the hackers will be banned eventually once zos implements cheat measures.

its not new, and yes, it destroys immersion. and NO, 1.1.2 will not do anything about it.

There is no real bot fixing bugs crushed in the upcoming patch from my understanding.

Can't keep continuing for much longer. Hopefully, they have been working on some form of cheat detection in this new patch.

If they couldn't get the botting problem under control in the old content, I highly doubt they will get it under control in the new content. My guess is that the new content is going to be riddled with bugs, bots and problems just like the rest of the game is.

I haven't actually seen any obvious bits myself (except in dungeons where the experience is clearly ruined) but in the zone I am currently in (level 15-25 north of glen umbra), I am having trouble finding iron deposits and flax/cotton, so that may be evidence of them being there. Quite annoying having to 'grind' so much at finding mats when I'd rather be questing/fighting

Botimax rules ESO. There is no Zenimax anymore.

Make a treaty or go to their company and sue them. Here's the address.

So apparently they live in China

Would say locking out certain regions in the world would help limit the problem, but they would just start using proxies.
