Not able to start 2nd part of the main story quest.

Started a new character, arcanist and completed the first step of the main story line quest. My character is already level 50 so after I completed step one the game then prompts me to start daughter of giants quest, but I can't get through the door to start it at the cave. Tells me I can't acces this location. I have read you need to talk to the profit first and you can to trigger that by going in and out of glenumbra but nothing.
I have tried to complete some other quests around this area hoping it might reset something but I am noticing some of the quests I am completing are not registering on the map as completed even though I did and got rewards. The icons on the map reminds black not white showing completed.
For daughter of giants I can only select help rather than abandon quest to start again, so I did and started a ticket but no information on this yet.

Hoghorn✭✭✭what alliance is your toon? you need to use the harborage in the alliance appropriate zone, glenumbra for dc, but vuhkel guard for ad and davon's watch for dc.0

jerj6925✭✭✭✭I guess there is a known issue with Char. not being able to start or continue the quest. some times you will complete one but it will not reflect on the map.0

✭Some characters seem to have been getting bugged lately. Have you by any chance done the "Kill 20 Arcanists" PVP daily quest? This seems to be particularly associated with getting into a bugged state, with respect to completed quests and areas suddenly becoming un-completed, or quest-stages being fouled up somehow. I don't know how it works, I'm not sure anybody else does, and I can't se why it would be this way, but apparently it is.
Honestly, if it's only a recently-started character - regardless of having got to 50 - I'd seriously consider deleting it (remember to stash any expensive stuff you've given it) and restart from scratch with a new non-bugged character.Edited by jle30303 on July 21, 2023 3:07AM0 -
jerj6925✭✭✭✭I did complete the Kill 20 Arcanist pvp daily but I got this character got the quest bug, I guess its not just me as I have seen other posting about the same issue.
As for restarting the character, I have simply done way to much with him to delete and start over. I am sure they can fix it in some new patch. the only frustrating thing is missing out on the skill points.0
