So I died again. No problem. It's par for the course. But the death recap screen says I died for 2 spells doing 60 damage each.
My char has 321 armor and 642 health. WTF?
And I died again while creating this thread.

✭as far as I can tell the Death Recap only shows what KILLED you, as in the final blow type of attacks, not the entire combat from start to finish. That means you had maybe 90 health left and 2 attacks for 60 each hit you at about the same time and you died. Now, if you were at FULL Health and weren't in combat then all the sudden you're dead and the death recap shows that then it's probably part of the ability lag that the NA and EU server have had since 1.1.2, but more recently the past 3 days (something Thursday's maintenance didn't address at all).2 -
Selstad✭✭✭✭Look forward till Veteran content. You can have an easy time and all of a sudden out of nowhere some mob comes hitting you for 3k without any visuals or any queue for it.
Boss on Atherian archives - big storm antronach - comes to mind here. Died so many times there due to no visual queue for the nova attack.
So welcome to ESO, you'll die more times of bad design choice than difficulty.0 -

There might be reasons beyond what you read for the way the OP spells, not being native to English being one of them.

I think you will have many more deaths if you insist on typing while mobs beat on you. At least, that had been my experience.
Also, most probably the two spells of 60 each killed you because at that time you had 120 HP (of your 642) left when they hit.

reggielee✭✭✭✭someone explained it to you-its the last few hits prior to death or else the list would be pages long ..... it sucks to die but if you are dying too much then its your eye hand reactions to the keyboards, not blocking or interrupting the heavy attacks in time, standing in aoe and meleeing or your class build isnt up to par or glitched class abilities.
