Harvesting CP bugged again?

MasterOfWisdom1618
Hey people,

I did lots of Woodworking Surveys today and often did not get the double amount.
Is there the CP bug again which just gave you 40% at max instead of 50% od double drop?

Thanks in advance.

    Hey people,

There’s a quick-ish way to test that particular bug. It didn’t just lower the max of 50% to 40%—it lowered every stage by 10 percentage points because the first stage didn’t work at all. If you slotted only one stage of PH with the bug active, you would never get a proc.

If you can slot one stage now and get any proc, you know that same bug is not back. (Keep in mind you might have to get as much as about 50 eligible mat drops due to the 10% chance, but most overland nodes work for this too.)

As for your surveys: do you have specific numbers on how many procs you got versus how many failed? RNG is streaky, and human perception is highly fallible in general.

I still have a backlog of surveys and have been meaning to test out an add-on to record harvesting loot, so let me see what I can find out today.

ETA: On my seventh eligible mat with PH at 10% (one stage only), I got 7x Ruby Ash, so that same bug is not back. That doesn't mean another one hasn't been introduced, but at least it's not the very same one.

Found your problem: it's me. I ate your RNG

Sorry. Kidding aside, the results of 35 surveys (blacksmithing, Northern Elsweyr):

    210 nodes

    18x: 48
    20x: 48
    36x: 28
    38x: 66
    40x: 20

    PH proc rate: 114/210 = 54.3%

    Rate of rolls for 18x: 170/324 = 52.5%
    Rate of rolls for 20x: 154/324 = 47.5%

Not the largest sample size, so I don't expect these to match my long-term values super closely, but these seem reasonable for the expected values of a 50% rate for PH and a 50-50 distribution of 18x and 20x. That's what I found for previous patches, anyhow.

    I also collected some surveys:

    Platinum Surveys x10 - 36/60 doubled
    Clothing Surveys x 20 - 49/120 doubled
    Blacksmith Surveys x 20 - 63/120 doubled

    Total: 148/300 doubled for a 49.3%

Even with this being slightly below 50%. This would only have a 0.022% chance of happening randomly if the proc rate of PH was 40%. Well beyond statistical significance to say that it's very likely not bugged at 40%.

@virtus753 's results above would only have a 0.0009% of happening randomly with it at 40%.

(Our data combined would make it a 0.0000005% chance)
