Daily Writs - Nevermind option?

I know I ask a lot of stupid questions, but remind me again why do we even have a never mind answer option when turning in our daily writs? Is there a reason we wouldn't turn them in?

It can be helpful to have that option, especially now that companions get rapport from them but must be summoned for the rapport to be gained.

Just yesterday I got Ezabi out so Lazy Writ Crafter/Creator could grab the alchemy and provisioning items for those writs. I forgot to dismiss Ezabi and was in the dialogue menu when I realized I needed to get Tanlorin back out first. Otherwise I’d have missed the rapport.

Clearly the bug was in my needing more coffee, but I’m glad it didn’t just autosubmit the quest.

It's just generally good practice to give the option of backing out of quests and dialogues.

    There's a few reasons.

Getting exp for a weapon set/bar of skills that you forgot to switch to before interacting with the hand in location.

Waiting for an event to activate that provides a bonus or has crafting writs or (Daily) Quests as a progress requirement.

Not having inventory room to hand in the writ (I.e. If you have a stack of food/potions and can't get the provisioning/alchemy satchel. Less so the other crafting skills that have you hand in non-stacking items)

Having different companions out to provide rapport (Such as Tanlorin having a daily for Alchemy Writ, Azandar having a daily for Enchanting Writ. Tanlorin and I think some others have positive rapport from Provisioning Writs)

There are times when you go auto-pilot and just click on the turn in and only then realise you want to do something first and hand them in later. So, much like other quests, you get the option to back out.

You just remembered there is a double XP event in a few weeks, so you want to save up writs for it.

Ok, it all makes sense I know why you may not want to turn it in. I forget to use Azandar all of the time when turning in my Enchanting writ. But... you can't just back out of instead of saying never mind? I just hit my B button on xbox to back out. I like to do my writs as fast as possible in the mornings.

Sorry I just think the less options available the easier? lol See, stupid questions I know.

I hear ya on the low function in the early morning doing writs with much needed coffee.

Yes, that happens to me quite often.

    "Nevermind."

Deconstruct, sell, and deposit recent loot.

If necessary, run to the Outlaws Refuge to fence and launder stolen goods.

Then turn in the crafting writ again.

On console I can back out of it by just pressing the circle button. Is there not a similar option for PC?

PC users can press Esc to back out of a dialogue.

But having the "Never mind" or "Goodbye" options are more convenient. As PC users can either click on said option or press 2 to select it which are often more accessible than reaching over to Esc.

It is for oldfashioned analogue PC people like me, who never want to touch a controller in their life, and hate to remember any more button presses than absolutely necessary. And who like their quests to come with written options, not some implied "mash some button combo and...". I have a mouse, and I'll use it!

Although, the answers above are probably a lot more valid. ;)

Backout probably just uses the nevermind option, it doesn't hurt to have it there
