Pale Order lead from Bad Man's Hollow is disgusting

I've been in this public dungeon (Bad Man's Hollow) in Glenumbra for A WEEK STRAIGHT trying to get this filthy lead but no luck!! ZOS, some of us actually WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME!!! The drop rate is just disgusting! What is the actual point in getting us to waste hours per day getting leads instead of letting us ENJOY THE ACTUAL GAME?!?

PLEASE change the drop rate for these godawful leads!

I also want to add that the bugs in Bad Man's Hollow seldom drop any actual loot. That could also use a fix.

With curated gear drops coming, can we ask for curated lead drops where drop chance increase by a little bit after each loot attempt without drop?

I got it from the Snake Boss in the pit below, one kill done... my Scrying is level 4 and it expired quietly into the night.

I don't understand why they're not doing this also. It would save us so much time to actually play the game itself.

I agree. I found this lead easier when the delve was less populated.

The bosses drop a different lead (Wild Hunt).

Besides that, since these leads and mythics are bound there is no reason they shouldn't drop with a higher percentage. So hopefully that does get changed.

This one can definitely suck. Especially if its crowded. It's a small area and can't support many players.

They need to jack up the chances on this one… the first time I tried to get it I was grinding for a few days (always with other people there) until I got it. Went back with another character and got it from the first mob.

It took me about 12 runs to get, but that was mostly because of the number of people farming for it in there (hard getting it to drop from kills when there's nothing left to kill).

I eventually got there, but I'd definitely advise just doing it a couple of runs day and then going off and doing something else.

Like everything else, it seems that the harder you look for it, the less chance there is of finding it..

Y'all need to stop hyper focusing on specific leads if it is going to be such a frustration. Rather than spending hours straight grinding for one, make a single bad man's hollow loop part of your daily activities. Run it through once to see if you get the lead drop, and then move on to other content.

I've done every lead in the game, and only a very small few were from actually grinding the same thing repeatedly. And usually those were just camping at specific delve bosses for 30 or 40 minutes.

Even the kilt lead in shadowfen took me maybe 2 hours tops, over the course of a week, where I'd look 10 or so nodes throughout the zone each day and then move on with my activities in game.

Gotta agree there's a lot of truth in this, but I'm the sort of guy (sounds like OP is too) that has to "hyper focus" on getting things done when the task itself is pretty unenjoyable. The thought of dropping into Bad Man's Hollow multiple times a week to run around looking for a single mob (spawn rate is terrible) is so much worse for me than just getting it all done in one go.

This lead probably took me close to 4-5 hours in total I think, but those 4-5 hours were super unengaging. I believe the delve also drops a different golden lead, so I also had an instance of joy followed by the realisation this was not the lead I was looking for.

Like I said - you have a very valid point, and I wish I was more like you tbh.

If you think this one is a pain in the ..., have fun with the one in Shadowfen for the Harpooner's Kilt :D

I eventually gave up on that one. No harpooner's Kilt for me, unless it drops by accident or gets a fair droprate

I got this lead after the hype died down. Didn’t take long. Have a good harvesting build.
The ROTPO lead is a nightmare. I got mine after pairing up with a dude in there so we didn’t take drops.
I also advise killing bosses too. The lead doesn’t drop from the but you can get loot to sell in the meantime

My ADHD won't allow me to farm something for hours. I get bored very quickly and have to do something else...

I would recommend working in Silver Shards because it will target all the 1HP critters in the area. Saves you from having to target them individually.
    Playing since beta...

Lets try this again. Most videogames and particularly MMOs are designed like a Skinner's Box, based on the principles on operant conductism. With a variable reinforcement mechanic, the videogame stimulates that part of the brain that makes you focus on a task at hand, no matter how tedious, in order to get the reward. It is important to maintain the user focused and invested in the game in order to manage a healthy, happy and competitive playerbase, and the use of Skinner Box mechanics is the way most MMO companies do this.

I used to be where you are, spending so much time in the game it was not even healthy, because I wanted to be competitive. It got to the point where I wasn't even enjoying the game, I was doing a task because I "had to", with a job like mindset. Then they changed the whole CP system, they nerfed some more sets I had been working hard to get, they implemented the companion system which I consider to be way more of a grind than it is reasonable, even in an MMO and so on. Those changes made me feel like the effort of years had been for nothing because I had to do the grind yet again. I was top CP and suddenly I had barely crossed the 1000 boundary. I wasn't doing as much damage as I used to. I had to do the grind again, farm new or different sets and... well, that added with the fact I was already playing the game like a job made me feel completely disheartened. I felt like I had been working ever since 2016 for nothing, like the investment in time and money (faithful premium account here) had been for nothing. I couldn't do this anymore.

I took a step back. Took some time off the game completely. I returned to finish the Blackwood DLC because I had yet not done it and I was having so much fun again. That's the part I truly enjoy, the questing, the exploring. That's the part that got me hooked to The Elder Scrolls games (Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim). That is the game I want to play.

PD; For a Skinner Box to work, the reward actually has to drop within a set ammount of time. It the reward takes too long to drop it will cause frustration and, eventually, rejection. When you play an average of 7 hours a day, open pretty much any container you find and purple furnishing blueprints appear twice a month, maybe that's an RNG you should look into. Just a suggestion. ;)

The Ring of Pale Order is an exceptionally useful mythic item for playing other content though, particularly arenas and dungeons. And yet if you have Markarth and Orsinium, the other leads are fairly easy to get (unless I got lucky in Bangkorai). I'd take or leave the Harpooner's Wading Kilt, although I probably won't bother, because it involves a DLC dungeon. Which would be even worse without the Ring of Pale Order.

Ah yes, I got at least two different toons in there to mix up the RNG and it took me almost 3 days in shifts. I broke up the time with other activities, but peers bragging about using it adds urgency. The competitive nature and population combined with weak boss health makes the whole experience bad. Also, some poor new player is just there to try and do the story getting caught in mob parades. Thank the Divines we can reconstruct the thing for 25 stones.

A week? Just one week? It took me ages. I'd go there every day, wasting my life away running through passageways that held no threat, no gain. I'd moan to my family about it (kids are gamers too), they told me to quit, let it be, it ain't going to happen... RNG gods have said no.

Then it dropped. I'd given up hope, it was just something I did, all hope of it dropping had vanished ages ago, it was just rote - learned behaviour that took me back there "maybe if I try just one more time" (oh yes, it's gambler terminology).

I'd never do it again, in fact it might be the thin end of the wedge... a sign that if something similar happens again then I'm out of here. Why pay for that?

It sped up for me when I started LAing the first zombie mobs near the entrance and then the ones down the tunnel to the far right of those mobs, also a pack of skeevers that respawn much more slowly. When I started and was killing them too fast, most of the mobs didn't drop anything, but LAing them to death seemed to get more drops. Also recommend being in a team with one other person because this apparently greatly increases the drops per mob.

Agreed, though, it was incompetent to put that lead in a lowbie dungeon with drastically limited mobs. As a new player, that very could be one's first public dungeon and would be annoying at least in a game was one brand new to, uninstall worthy at worst.
