What would you like to see in future for companion keepsakes?

I would like a companion that has knowledge of the location of all the treasure maps in game.

your idea sounds odd for a Keepsake, but i do wish we had the treasure map locations on our map. seems better as a regular quality of life improvement though.

a bonus to all furnishing materials would be an awesome companion bonus to me

    -Seeing enemies through walls.
-Granting 1 bonus random daily crafting quest for a random craft.
-Ability to make your gear indestructible(no more repairs).
-Ability to revive without using a soul gem.
-Ability to use two companions at the same time.
    -Sixth skillslot.

Just what I could come up with for now.

PS: Treasure map and survey map locations should show on the map after we have found them the first time. This should be a QoL, not a keepsake.

In the stream they said they went away from giving us extra items because of complaints that the stuff clutters our inventories. While I agree about some of the items being relatively useless (do people really use Bastian's potions?), I would have prefered to give us something useful instead of stopping it altogether.

Of course I'm happy for the people whom it helps, but the extras from the two upcoming companions, as stated in the stream, are useless to me personally. I never had problems with lockpicking, not even with master chests, and I usually see heavy sacks quite well, too. So for me, this adds nothing at all.

But that's fine, there will always be bonuses that are interesting for some players and useless for others. I'd find it "useful" to get furniture, furnishing plans and material. Or alchemy ingredients, or crafting material of all kinds. Players who are not interested in housing or crafting would find that useless.

My favorite so far is Azandar's, btw, because I can always use more pardon edicts and furnishing plans are also nice to get (either it's new for me or I can sell it at least; in fact, I've gotten a few rarer plans through this).

Other than that, I'd love if our companions could do our crafting surveys for us (technically it would probably be something like turning them in and getting the mats in return - alike to deconstructing items), but that's not really something that could or should be done as a keepsake bonus.

Here is a selection of what I could think of:
    - Increase amount of gold when selling stolen loot.
    - improve pickpocketing success by 5%
    - pay your bounty when talking to your companion instead of going to the thieve hideout
    - Increased bounty drop
    - distract guards when you get caught to avoid getting pursued for 5s
    - with 100% good terms: Increase harvested ressources by 50% at a 50% chance (or so).

This would lead to massive devaluation, even if it's just a minor increase.

You can port to friends, guild members and party members for no cost, just use that and port to your desired destination after.

    I'm not greedy.

I just want a companion that is a portal master. Perk would be the ability to fast travel to any discovered location on the map, not just houses/wayshrines, once per game-day (game day is 6 hours long).

Balance is impossible to achieve, I'd rather the game be fun. These things don't have to work in PvP anyways, and only the sixth skillslot would make a difference in PvP. Everything else I posted is simply QoL keepsakes.

Absolutely this, but also for surveys.

Maybe the companion has a compass. So when you have a map in your inventory, it marks the location on your map.

Or they could just add the scroll and skip the middle-step entirely, plus not everybody actually has friends/guild mates as quite a few people just play solo.

In the stream they said they went away from giving us extra items because of complaints that the stuff clutters our inventories.

That's very sad :/ From all companions so far, my favorite keepsakes are from Mirri and Azandar (loot bags from treasure chests and containers).

Ember's keepsake is bad because it takes away the pickpocket chance. If it was additional drop together with a normal pick-pocketing loot, it would be nice.
dont forget that players should never be forced to play with companions and many dont like them

I also don't like idea of NPC companions in MMO, it's unsettling to see them taking place of real players in the game world... But they can be useful as:
    - showcase dummy for your second mount/costume
    - distraction for enemy while you pick guarded resource node or treasure chest
    - help when one person leaves your dungeon group and you can't find a replacement

For example, I don't like Isobel's personality and I don't adventure with her unless I need to level up some skill line(s). But she healed few dungeons this event for me as 4th member of 3-player group, and I was pleasantly surprised at her performance...

I don't like Bastian's personality too and don't use him for adventures, but it's satisfying to see how he tanks bosses and Marauders in Infinite Archive. Yesterday he successfully tanked a Marauder on Stage 3, I would never make it alone there :)

Also, I dislike Mirri's personality most of all currently existing companions (not including 2 upcoming companions :D ), but I leveled her up as the very first companion to unlock her keepsake account-wide. I don't have to use her to enjoy additional loot bags from chests <3

My personal wish list for desirable keepsakes (this can make me get a companion even if I don't like their personality):

    1) +5% pickpocket chance
    2) 2 meter reduction of enemy stealth-detection radius
    3) +5% (+10%) movement speed at all times
    4) +10% mounted speed (I always miss old 3-pieces bonus of Cyrodiil's Ward set as +15% mounted speed) o:)
    5) 20% chance to double loot from crafting nodes (when both this and CP perk proc together, that would be like an event)
    6) 20% chance to double loot from any mob/boss (make dungeon farm a little more interesting)
    7) increase loot quality from treasure chests (so Simple chest will always have a set item in it, for example)
    8) add 15-30 minutes duration to all consumed food/drinks
    9) gain 10% fall damage reduction
    10) perk which gives cost reduction/buffs to werewolf and vampire skills/passives

Ember's keepsake does not take away a pickpocket chance. It adds a fourth chance randomly. This has been proven time and time again.

As far as what I would like, a treasure map/survey location would be nice. Basically, anything that makes the Destinations add-on and things of its ilk accessible to console players.

Here are some of my ideas :) :
    • increase chances for Motif page drops from treasure-map chests from what ever those are atm to 100% (guranteed drop)
    • increase chances for treasure-maps to drop from open world chests to the following chances for each chest type: master = 100% chance, advanced = 66%, intermediate = 33%, simple = 10%
    • increase chances to find/drop furniture plans, etc. by at least 50% or better by 100% from what ever chances are atm
    • the same thing as above for leads
    • make it so that a companion will mark the location of treasure map chests on our map with a X, so that we don't need to search for it or use an addon
    • make it so that a companion will gather surveys for us ... with maxed out stats 2 per hour (48 per day) ... we only need to give the companion the surveys and it will go on its way to collect them, returning after done and giving us all the mats

Some things I can think of in a similar vein to other bonuses:

    - Increased Monster Trophy drop rate
    - Mining/Harvesting/chopping nodes have a chance to contain pockets of their rare materials (Regulus/Bast/Alchemical Resin/Heartwood) OR a copy of the Psijic Portals thing where these nodes have their own chance to become special versions with better loot. This bonus can be used across multiple companions (One for each material type) to keep it in line with other bonuses (Like Sharp and his fishing buff)
    - Thieves Troves have a chance to include bonus loot (Similar to Mirri's bonus for regular chests)
    - Daily quests have a chance to give an extra loot item
    - Provides a chance that weapon charges/poisons are not consumed when triggering

    Edit: More ideas;
    - Increased chance of successfully harvesting bugs (Torchbug Thorax, Butterfly Wing etc)
    - Bookshelves have an increased chance of giving the skill increase books and have a chance to simply provide experience
    - Enemies in general have a chance to drop additional loot
    - Increased swimming speed
    - Increased chance of finding higher rarity items when stealing from containers

Must be from an addon for anything but the dragons (forgot about those being visible). Other stuff you cannot see until you port into the actual zone. From other zones outside you cannot.

So if I am in Grathwood I cannot see what dolmens are active in Glenumbra.

A few ideas, some of which are based on existing passives in other skill lines:
    • A Keepsake which grants a chance to find Trait materials (such as Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond, and so on) when mining Blacksmithing or Jewelry Crafting nodes.
    • A Keepsake which reduces the Gold cost of repairing armor or changing your appearance at an Outfit Station.
    • A Keepsake which reduces the Bounty or Heat you receive when committing a crime, or one which reduces the Bounty or Heat you have at an increased rate.
    • A Keepsake which reduces the aggression radius of hostile monsters while mounted.
    • A Keepsake which increases the value of fenced items.

yes you need to be in the zone, doesn't seem like something that could be changed to be visible without being in the zone.

i think if it were possible to be visible in other zones that should be a Quality of Life improvement instead of a Companion perk, just like the suggestion in the first post in this thread.
