Issue with weaving during dummy parsing

I am currently trying to improve my light attack weaving weaving and therefore train at the trial dummy.

What I observe is that I have some weird issues where the light attack animation does not start at all and I just cast the skills.

I have run tests casting the same skill over and over while weaving.

I sometimes observe that I can smoothly weave for a few seconds then the LA animations and light attacks completely miss out and then a few seconds later it works normally.

How long these phases last varies.

I am not sure if this is a generall issue that I have or if this is related to certain skills. At least some skills show less issue with that than others.

Does anybody have similar issues?

Do some of you have an idea how to solve this?

Yeah I have this struggle too. Basically the servers are struggling so it's standard.
Wishing for Lilmothiit race still! Or maybe Lilmothiit companion?

Both Light attacks and skills have a 1 second cool down so you may be LAing too quickly.

I think I used to be decent at LA weaving, but recently I've played some infinite archive, and noticed I missed quite a few that I still thought were off. I tried concentrating on making that right, and noticed that I was doing it, but they just didn't register as much as they used to.

IA is also laggy to play sometimes when a lot of effects are happening at the same time, especially if I'm grouped up, it's a bit of an extra strain to play under those conditions, and just gives me a headache after a bit - except for obviously making it harder to react fast to every incoming thing, not that the lag has been so bad very often that that's been my survival issue.

There's a rythm to be learned with LA weaving and skill rotation. Believe it or not, some players use a metronome to train their muscle memory for weaving. Set the metronome to 120 beats per minute, and the rythm will be 1 second between each LA, and 1 second between each skill. Get that rythm down, and then start mixing in your rotation.

Packet loss. Weaving too fast can also cause them to not go off, but in the past few months, server stability has been at an all time low and a lot of actions are getting lost when being sent to the server. You can have 80-100 ping and still experience extreme packet loss.

The example I have is not the best example, but it can shed some insight on what's happening. You can see at the top that my first light attack never fired despite being registered by the game server. Biting jabs got registered, but got caught up in some latency and didn't go off. I then light attack again and have it go off instantly, and then my biting jabs that I cast before my second LA finally goes off.

I'm pretty good at weaving, but recently I've been noticing that I'm missing several LA weaves in a row. Doesn't matter what content I do. Whenever it happens, I open CMX to view the log and it's the same results like above each time.

But if it doesn't connect and fire, you can't be sure that key stroke will be the one, so you end up hitting it more often in case you need to to get the skill to fire. Because you don't know. Will it won't it will it won't it. Oops there we go it worked he's dead.

Metronomic playing only works when every key stroke registers.

basically its one of 2 things (or both)

    1) you're not firing the LA's correctly, (ie weaving)
    2) lag

remember there is a 1 sec cooldown on LA's - so spamming isnt going to help you
also remember , its LA > skill . . not skill > LA for the cancelling. (easy mistake to make)

a lof of people use a metronome app at 120 (i actually set mine to 100 as its a bit easier) on their Phone . its also easier on pc than it is on console (cos addons)

lag you cant do a lot with, assuming your pc and internet connection is up to speed. however, a lot of people do parses at non-core hours to help with lag - also in small houses with limited objects in that also sometimes helps (anecdotally - not seen any evidence on this)

aside from that, its practice practice practice.

Doesn't matter. It's best to maintain the practice of triggering it when it's Supposed to fire. LA's and Skills have a 1sec cooldown (actually 700ms if I recall correctly, providing a 300ms pad for higher ping/latency). If the occasional LA or skill doesn't fire, the worst thing a player could do is go chasing after it. It's best to just keep the rythm going and let the rotation correct itself. Otherwise the rotation falls apart and dps falls even further.

Sure, sometimes lag can interfere. But it's usually best to operate as if under ideal conditions so as to avoid inevitable chaos

120 bpm is too high due to lag and ping. About 112-114 should do it. I set mine at 56 and do LA-skill each beat. IDK about your method swapping LA and skill with each beat due to skill animation. My way there a brief rest (fraction of a second) while the animation plays out.
