Why Tri-Pots Should Be Buyable with Alliance Points

That's the point of the thread. Pvpers can't afford to buy tri-pots so they want to be able to buy them with AP.

It is extremely funny that the type of players who mostly need tri-pots are PvP players and yet they can buy all the PvE pots but not the tri-stat pots.

The other type of players who need them are the tanks but they are way less than the PvP players.
    Because I can!

If Tri-Pots were purchasable with AP, within a week every player who'd stashed away millions in AP would be broke again. And then the argument would circle back around to Columbine and how unfair it that it's so time consuming it is to harvest it.

I don't think that would happen with most pvp regulars. If I sit down for a solid night of PvP I'll probably drink about 100 of them. I'll also easily make 100k and if they were to sell for 1k each I could sustain that indefinitely. I'm willing to be that most regulars in Cyrodiil make much more AP than I do.

This is all pretty moot, though. I'm not sure how any dev would be able to convince their boss that this should happen when it would directly cut into potential sales on the Crown Store.

But if the people who loudly claim that Tri Pots are too expensive are to be believed, I really don't see such a huge cost if you only need 100 pots per day. I mean, that's 25 Columbine, 25, Bugloss, and 25 Mountain flower. That's like whut... 50k-60k a day? That's peanuts.

    I don't know if I'm following.

50,000g per 100 Potions. Every day?

While I do agree that 50K gold is peanuts, I don't think it's that simple. If every single play consumed 100 crafted tripots per day, we would get to a point where demand would exceed the supply, which would further drive up the cost of crafted tripots. I personally only use the free tripots that we get for logging in.

I very much do not agree. 50k is a LOT of gold for most people. I have 3.6m in the bank, it took me NINE YEARS to accrue that much. If I started paying out 50k a day for pots I'd go broke in 70 days.

Basically this in a nutshell. I'm constantly trying to scavenge for enough money to go to pvp with tri-pots. I don't want to gather in pve to pvp, but I have to. Let me just enjoy doing the endgame activity I want to do. I'm already forced into enough pve to get gear, cp, food, and skill lines before I can pvp. Just give me tri-pots already.

If you are only pvping you make basically zero money. You can try and convert your AP to gold, but the conversion rate is awful. I can assure you that 50k-60k isn't peanuts to pvp only players.
Fake news. I made over billion gold on Cyro alone in last couple of years, and I don't live there 24/7. Spent about million AP a bit over a month ago, made 12mil gold out of that already and still have some items left in stock.

    Stop the cap.

Selling items like Rallying Cry ice staff or Deadly rings don’t make consistent gold. 1 is RNG and the other is once every few months.

If you’re making enough AP to stock up on those items, then you’re also spending as much gold or boosting AP. You definitely aren’t making billions as a strict PvPer lol.

On the flip side, you probably enjoy actually playing the game more than folks like myself that have over 100 million gold in the bank.

I agree it may seem like a lot of gold to some people but alternatively if you're a player who 50k is a lot of gold for you're very likely not the type of player who needs to be chugging 100+ tri pots every single day to begin with. I don't think any casual player is doing that, mainly only the trials/PvPers and maybe the people running multiple dungeons in a day (although those people may use trash pots instead in some cases.)

Maybe not all of it but a sizable portion of the gold spent is earned back through gameplay by things such as plunder or selling gear drops.

P.S I absolutely think they should just be buyable with AP.
