Leads drop rate for torc of the last ayleid king

Who thought it's a good idea to put the leads of a mythic and 5 other things in the same drop location, and then make the drop rate absolutely awful
I got 15 leads in maybe 50 bonus chests I opened, and only 3 of them are what I need
And for the last 3 days, I did countless runs and opened another 30+ chests, and got zero leads
Not even kidding, no lead drop, in over 30 chests
I kept checking to make sure I don't have the leads already
What is this BS? who thought this is fun?
Absolutely ***.
I've farmed a lot of mythics and I have to say this one is by far the dumbest and most braindead

and I'm only counting the portal to unknown chests and the arc boss chests, because they are the only ones that can drop the lead, I have opened probably 100 of those and I only have 3 leads I need.

    Ridiculous design

    How far do you run?

I think the drop rate goes up as you get deeper in - I ran the first two bosses over and over and over, opening all the bonuses that appeared in those stages and everything, and grew gradually more and more frustrated.

"to hell with it", I decided, and simply pushed as far as I could - and I got all three remaining leads in one run, each one deeper into the Archive than the last.

at first I thought that's the case so I would push to arc 3 and 4 with my friend, but it didn't seem like the drop rate was better so I started resetting after arc 2 boss
I guess I'll try to go far then

Fair - I will say I did not push to Arc 4; I was able to get everything before then. But I was alone; I'm not sure if two people are competing for the same 'drop rate' or not (i.e. the lead only drops once per run, so if it drops for your friend, you have no chance at it until a fresh run, or fresh chest, or if both of you can get a lead from the same chest!

maybe, I haven't paid attention to that

    active player since april 2014

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Conversely, for me, I got all of my leads passively in Arc 1-2 within a week of the mythic's release without doing any of the side portals, because I detest IA and the mini games. I wasn't even looking for the leads. RNG in this game is so busted.

I think having totally different and unexpected results from a random process actually means it's working as intended...

Humans have a lot of erroneous assumptions around randomness, including assuming it'll inherently have understandable patterns.

IMHO, the drop rate is fine. I get leads often enough farming arcs 1 - 3 solo w/campanion.

What is NOT fine though, is the over saturated pool. They keep adding more mythics to the same pool to draw from. The new Jewelry Station requiring 10 leads (seriously?), that makes it even more obnoxious.

So while I get leads at a respectable rate, I have a bunch of unclaimed antiquities that I don't dare dig up because that'd be just dumping more leads back into the pool. I have all the leads for the Torc, but I can't claim it yet.

I’d agree, were it not for the fact that the character I got all those leads with consistently has better luck at getting leads than my other characters.

One of the mistakes humans often make (about randomness) is they are insufficiently "streaky". The data about tennis serves is fascinating - when told to be "random", human tennis servers will serve differently almost every time they serve. They switch serve type and rhythm "too often" relative to a truly random process.

True RNG appears streaky to us (wow, every coinflip has come up heads for the last 6 rolls, surely roll 7 will be tails) because of this very same assumption... but that assumption is faulty. If one character has had a streak of successes that defies human assumptions about how randomness works, that's actually a feature rather than a bug of truly inhuman randomness.

I feel the same way, I have not got the leads that were in there originally and they keep adding more.

They need to out these leads in all of the chests.
