Scribing altar not usable on two out of three floors

The scribing altar won't place in a usable state (i.e. green outline) on either the ground or top floors of the Gardner house (Wayrest) even though it's clear of any obstructions on all sides. You can place it in the basement or even part way up the stairs and get a green outline but if you try and place it on either of the other two floors it'll only place with a yellow outline and you won't be able to interact with it afterwards.

Can you turn off surface drag mode and raise it a little bit from the floor? I'm wondering if it might be clipping ever so slightly through the floor or something like that.

No, I've already tried that and couldn't find a spot where it worked. This doesn't seem to be an issue in other similar houses that I tested but for some reason it just won't place properly in the Gardner house unless it's in the basement or on the stairs (because of course it does).

The other thread about this issue says that the station is too tall, so I guess raising it off the floor would only make more of it clip through the ceiling. :( Oh, well.

I guessed that it's too tall thinking some hit box for all the blue speckles emanating from it but I honestly I have no idea.

It's nowhere near as tall as the vampire fountain and that fits on the top floor without issue whereas the altar doesn't. The altar also works fine in the basement of the Gardner house which has a lower roof than either of the other two floors. Not to mention that it works fine in other comparable houses Grymharth's Woe.

ok so I'm wrong - either way ZOS replied to the other thread and apparently other houses have the issue as well so maybe we'll get a fix

    Greetings,

With there already being a thread opened on this subject here, we're going to go ahead and close this one down.

    Thank you for understanding.
