Multiple Crashes, Unsure Why

As of 4/20/24 I've been dealing with multiple crashes throughout playing. It did it a few times on Saturday and a few times yesterday, and the trend has continued into today. The first few times this happened I was unable to even look at the error code, as the eso game window would not allow windows on top of it, nor would it minimize. One of the times I got an error it closed the launcher, rather than the game itself. Today I sent in for a ticket with the following error, 'Fatal Error: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED'. However, the game has crashed three more times since then.

The second time it crashed my entire computer and caused it to restart, which I have never experienced before. The third crash it simply froze after 15 minutes of gameplay, no error message. I closed the game window and the launcher, but had to force quit eso in the task manager as it was still going and still playing game audio somehow. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling after this, but it crashed again before it even got to the character select screen.

I have looked in the event viewer to look for warnings, these are examples of some of the ones from the last few days I've been having problems

'LSA package is not signed as expected. This can cause unexpected behavior with Credential Guard.

PackageName: kerberos'

'The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{6B3B8D23-FA8D-40B9-8DBD-B950333E2C52}
and APPID
{4839DDB7-58C2-48F5-8283-E1D1807D0D7D}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.'

'The speed of processor 21 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.'

There are multiple processor messages, the number ranging from 16 to 23. It is listed as a kernel warning.

I am not a very tech savvy person, and I'm really not sure what could be wrong. I had absolutely no issues with the game before saturday. The only thing that has changed about system is I installed new ram on 4/18, going from 1x16gb to 2x16gb. I don't know if it's related or not.

    In addition to reinstalling, there are some additional steps you can take found below to help with these crash issues.

    What do I do if ESO is crashing with the error "ESO has stopped working"?

    Looks to me like these errors are Windows errors and possibly an power supply issue/RAM slot issue.

    The DXGI error and the LSA Package errors are Windows issues. There are quite a few "solutions" to fix these on the Internet on the Microsoft Answers site.

    All of this may just be due to the RAM you installed. Motherboards have a pattern to follow for installing RAM sticks and the RAM must be the same (as far as RAM size and timing goes). You can use different brands of RAM but I would be hesitant to do so.
    Also the RAM sticks must be installed in certain slots on the motherboard for Dual Channel Memory. For example if your motherboard has four RAM slots usually the first 16 Gig RAM stick goes in slot 1 and the second 16 Gig RAM stick goes in slot 3. Look in the motherboard manual for the proper slots to use to be certain.

    I have seen the DXGI device removed error a few times in the past and it was NOT Windows or software related. Turned out to be a Power Supply Issue. My power supply was fine but the cable(s) going from the power supply to the video card had degraded on one connector so the video card was not powered properly. That one took some trouble shooting with a cable and power supply tester. I replaced the defective cable from the PSU to the video card and no issues since.

    You may also want to check your PSU as well to be certain it can handle the full load of the PC with the Video card running at full power. These days I would not go less than a 1,000 Watt power supply unit.

    Good luck!

    My current build far exceeds the minimum requirements, I have repaired the game client multiple times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled add ons, my graphics drivers are up to date, and windows is up to date as well. This pc has been running eso just fine since late November of last year on the highest settings, and only just within the last few days have there been issues.

    It also crashed an additional time last night while I was just walking through Murkmire. No error code, just said eso had stopped working.

    The ram sticks are in the two middle slots, so this may in fact be the issue. I will be looking into that, thank you for the insight. As for the power supply, since this is a relatively new machine I very much hope nothing is wrong with it.

    The sticks are the same drm and brand as the one the machine came with, just a type in the sense that they have rgb lights in them they are vulcan t force ddr5 6000mhz delta rgb sticks. The build came with a single Vulcan t force ddr5 6000mhz.

    I believe the problem has been fixed, eso has been in stable play for about an hour now. I went to a friend who knows more about computers with the problem and they confirmed that my ram sticks were indeed in the wrong slots. They have since been placed in the correct slots. Thank you for the input!
