Stuck: investigate Tel Rendys in Necrom

The mushroom tower door of Tel Rendys is covered by mushroom “stuff”, how can I get in? Or must I do something else first?

If I recall correctly, you have to wander the area a bit to trigger the quest to advance to the next step.

Yeah, if you wander around the general vicinity of the tower, you'll come across the part that advances the quest. There will be someone to talk to that will let you get into the tower.

A little bit north of the icon on the map, there should be an area with tents and barricades and an npc you can talk to.

That never happened. Running around inside the quest area. Slightly outside. No one appears.

If so, you need to head to the camp, listen in on conversations, and talk to the NPCs. Should go from there.

Note that some of those "Explore {area}" quests are a bit annoying in that the quest marker remains as a general area waypoint rather than directing you to the actual person or item you need to find within the area. So you really do need to look around.
