Cyrodiil/IC PVE Advice?

To keep context short, I stepped away from ESO for about a year and a half due to some intense medical issues. Now that I'm returning to the game, I'm picking back up on trying to play completionist on my main character. The only thing left for me to do map completion wise are Cyrodiil and Imperial City.

Now, I'm not new to PVP to put that out there, I used to play in Cyro frequently, but I am in a situation where I have to severely limit or remove stress due to the prior mentioned medical issues. Stress-Free and PVP don't exactly go hand-in-hand, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice to make completing the PVE side of these areas easier.

My wife and I have completed all of Cyo and IC without engaging in PVP. But we had to adjust our time of play to avoid normal peak times. Cyro was easy, my wife even did all the fishing she wanted without interruption. IC was a bit annoying. Gankers made it less enjoyable.
Log out if too much grief.
If there is a lot of activity put aside the pve and join the pvp. Maybe.
We got killed doing the pve, sometimes often, but roll with it and accept it as part of yhe journey.

Yes, my advice would be to invest in a NB and/or bring invisi pots, these can be useful even for a NB.

Stress free, ok. NB with increases to move speed can help you get around easier but always remember there other players out there on the lookout for stealth activities.

Imperial City is similar. Perhaps a bit more dangerous because in IC more than anywhere else others are watching specifically for stealth characters. If there's a serious group farming in IC stay away from them because many groups run NBs to counter gankers so if in doubt, stay away.

Much of it is knowing the field, knowing when you're not alone, watch for indicators, pay some attn to the map. If nothing else for PvE you want a map where your faction has mostly taken control of it so you can move around easier. Another thing that helps, turn off your online mode before going into PvP so no one knows you're there or specifically no one can see what dungeon you're in.

Stay away from joining groups unless you absolutely have to. Another group member can give your position away and yes, this has happened. It has happened several times to me. If in Cyrodiil resist the urge to help lol (which I've been doing anyways cause no one listens anymore, they just keep making same mistakes). If in IC, make sure to drop off your credits from time to time. Losing those to some random ganker can be very very stressful and it can always happen.

Need more info, let me know.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding.

if you want the least amount of interaction with other players, then you would want to play something stealthy (more useful in IC than cyro)

in cyro many of the towns are neutral and not capturable so there is no indication that you would be there doing the quests (the 3 capturable towns do not have to be captured to do the quests, but you will likely have to frequently re-kill enemy guards)

other things such as delves are also fairly out of the way so unlikely you will run into other players so stealth is not as useful as in IC

I know a lot of people suggest going into the least populated instance, and that's helpful if your alliance has control of the map, strictly to cut down on riding time, but I completed pretty much all of the PVE in Cyro in Greyhost during peak hours. Everyone there is focused on keeps and resources, scrolls and emp. I was left alone for the most part. I think the only time I was attacked was when another group came up on me soloing a dolmen. Otherwise I had some nice interactions with players from other alliances who were doing the same thing as me and there was an unspoken mutual understand to let each other be.

I love doing PvE in Cyrodiil and Imperial City.

My best advice-- aside from avoiding busy times and busy campaigns if you feel the need to avoid any potential interactions as much as possible-- is to simply shrug or laugh off any PvP deaths. For me, that really helps to reduce my stress when I'm in Cyrodiil or Imperial City, and even allows me to join in some of the AvA PvP with the expectation that, yes, I'm going to die a lot, but who cares?

PvE in Cyrodiil can even be surprisingly enjoyable if you see an enemy player who is also there for the PvE and both of you leave each other alone or even help each other kill NPC enemies.

Once I was trying to do a daily quest in Cropsford for a daily endeavor. I was surrounded by enemy players from the faction that controlled Cropsford. I had removed all of my armor to help me hide more easily from the NPC guards (since I normally wear all heavy armor).

There I was, in my black underwear, crouched beside a building while other players came up to me and got in my face to let me know they were watching me very carefully.

I would creep up to the quest giver to try to grab a quest or turn one in, but the NPC flag guards would spot me, so I'd have to slink back behind the building to wait for the guards to lose interest, then get closer so I could watch and wait patiently for the patrolling NPC guard to finish his rounds and move away, then try again to slink up to the quest giver.

All the while, the enemy players were right there in my face, but they didn't attack me because it was obvious that I wasn't there to try to capture the town from them or bother their fellow players; they knew I just wanted to complete the endeavor.

Moments like that can be so much fun that they put you over the moons. :)

And as for the other moments when you get killed by another player while trying to quest-- eh, just shrug it off and try again; don't let yourself get upset over it.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Stealth potions, run away, go to no-CP Imperial City and Ravenwatch but not on the weekends during prime time. You might die a couple of times or go long stretches without seeing another player. That's all you need to know, really.

Take the NO PROC NO CP campaigns.

Cyro PVE has one hurdle though: the four Skyshards in enemy bases. They are notoriously hard to get.

I can recommend wearing the Nord bathing suit costume. 😉 Everyone will immediately recognize you as a PvEer.
Will they leave you alone? Maybe. But it will increase your chances.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

those shards used to be easier to get when there were more camps and each faction fully owned one lol

i dont know about the costume advice, i see some pvpers wearing that just because lol

in most cases, people will shoot first and ask questions later unless your really high hp (that actually deters gankers more than changing your costume)
